    Rear clam shell shock

Greg, I found the pic. You can see how the strut attaches to the wheel well.

    Rear clam shell shock

I think he put a bracket there because the rear wheel wells are not installed. I think you can mount the gas strut to the rear vertical surface of the wheel well liners if you have them.

    Rear clam shell shock

This may help, I think this was a very early build and might have been the first to add struts…

    Alternator & Starter Fuse Question

Just following up on this thread. I went with option #1. Purchased a fuse block which uses Marine Rated Battery fuses. It’s pretty compact and there are a lot of fuse sizes to choose from. Made a bracket to mount this above the battery… Installed on the chassis, the block comes with an...

New Jersey Titling of a Replica

This is my interpretation based on a discussion with one of the salvage inspectors at the Asbury Park office. Sort of. The simplest rule is you can reference the year of the block and what ever the emissions requirements were for that engine and year is what you need. There Is some deviation...

New Jersey Titling of a Replica

I was at the NJ DMV today picking up an inspection sticker and just chatted with one of the employees about passing emissions. He verified for kit cars or any car for that matter, the VIN in the ECU does not have to Mach the VIN on the car. He said the computer will check if the MIL is off and...

Not understanding the delivery process, looking for help.

Not sure if you have seen the SLC Wiki. It documents many of the upgrades included with the SLC since inception. It clearly shows when changes were made, better solutions were offered over prior versions. My car is a 2018/2019 and since then new uprights with stronger bearings, better formed...

    Mark B's Build Thread

Hi Mark, If you can post a pic of how you trimmed the tub I would be interested in seeing it. I’ve been thinking about how I’ll install the carpet and wanted to make removable molded sections where the carpet lays against the flat chassis floor and sides. I didn’t want to just use contact...

New Jersey Titling of a Replica

Tony, I think I misread your post and thought you were about to go through the process. Wondering if you have or are planning to register a kit car in NJ.

New Jersey Titling of a Replica

The below links are better than me summarizing the booklet. I think I read that someone bought a crate engine and because the block was not dated pre-1970 it was not acceptable and needed to be replaced. I’m doing a modern engine so it will need to meet ODB2 emissions and I’m doing my best to...

New Jersey Titling of a Replica

Tony, I live in NJ. I’ve been building my car to meet/pass NJ Home built rules based on the booklet issued by the state. I’d be very interested in your approach and how you make out. I’m probably 2 years away from applying for registration. There was a very helpful guy at the NJ Asbury Park...

    Dusty's SLC Build

Rusty, Racepack looks like a really slick setup. I like the way all the components daisy chain and stack together. Nice to see you are getting close to the first start.

    How to mount pedal slider?

Chris, Here are a couple pics I have of the slider install. Looks like these builders used flat head screws with nuts underneath. I had that slider, but decided to go in another direction and sold it. Counterboring the hole flat for a nut and washer makes a lot of sense so you don’t have the...
