    Bogus GT40s.com Site Feedback Form

Fred, It can be to collect data from your computer. Generally, they are looking for active email addresses, which are then compiled and sold. The larger the list and the more valid addresses it contains, the more it is worth. And, then there are the ^$$holes who are just malicious and...

    Combined rad/oil cooler

I'll jump in here with an opinion, just an opinion. Why an oil cooler? IMHO, an oil cooler is employed to maintain the oil at a specified temperature (or range of temps.) And one may ask how this specified temperature is determined. It is determined by the clearances set in the bearings and...

    Bogus GT40s.com Site Feedback Form

All, If you get an email that has a subject line like "GT40s.com Contact Us Form - Site Feedback", it is a bogus email! We have not sent out any feeedback forms. Lynn

    Superformance Ford GT MkII

Mike, I love the color!! rockonsmile It looks very much like the Bright Island Blue (Ford 2003 ZX2 color) on my car and it has the silver stripes that mine was supposed to have (but the duffuses painting it "forgot" ) Lynn

Ford GT, Ford GT40 Name Discussion

Re: Why did they name it that? Bob, I would like to ask about something that predates the whole Ford vs Safir thing. I have been approached several times concerning how Safir came to own the rights to the GT40 name, at least in the United States. Do you have anything you can share with us...

    G50/01 rebuild?

TC, From your description I would say, don't leave out the billet shift forks. LSD or no LSD that is highly personal. After going with an open diff because I was building a street car, I though better of it after talking with a lot of guys who use their cars for street/light track. But, I...

    '87-'89 G50 on eBay

TC, When I contacted GAD, I made it clear that I was associated with the forum here and they still haven't responded to me either. NOT A GOOD SIGN. Certainly not the actions of stand-up vendor who wants to maintain a good relationship with its customer base. Unfortunately, the demand for...

    I Got Screwed Royally!!!

Bill, Absolutely, don't let this go. With the reach of the forum members, distance is not an issue! The world is, indeed, shrinking. When I first read this, I thought small claims court. Now I am not a lawyer, but doesn't $7K (not to mention the cost of making the transaxle right) take...

    I Got Screwed Royally!!!

Rick, Put another way, "a man has trouble thinking with both of his heads at the same time!" And they say that two heads are better than one; well.......not always. Lynn

    I Got Screwed Royally!!!

Doug, You are right, we have a Consumer Watch area already that serves this purpose. All one needs to do is a quick search of that forum for the name of a prospective vendor and see if it gets a hit. No need for a sticky really. But, this presumes that everyone has the cajones to say that...

Reason for differences between MkI and II front end?

Jonathan, There were a couple of different MK II front ends as well (a & b) for the same reasons. Lynn

    Long block - Short block

I've seen all sorts of combinations called long and short blocks. Just about the only thing you can count on is that both should have a rotating assembly (crank, rods & pistons) and a short block is NOT going to have heads and a long block WILL have heads. Anything beyond that is usually...

    G50/01 rebuild?

TC, The issue with G50/50 is going to be finding one. G50/52 not as hard, but....there are a couple of different bell housing widths, etc. etc. Two things come to mind re: beefing up: billet side cover and shift parts, both available and will address two weaker areas fairly easily...
