    Identifying my CAV.

Wow, sad end for this car ! Do you know what happened to set it on fire ? And I wonder too if there's anything salvageable ... Maybe the engine and gearbox ?

    1/8 scale scratch built GT40 Mk1

Hum :embarassed:, regarding plans for an original chassis, I'm afraid those drawings are the most highly thought after jewels you can imagine :anxious:, and worth gold litteraly... They are not on the open market, not to speak about free availability on the net...a top secret, jealously kept by...

    1/8 scale scratch built GT40 Mk1

Incredible, I thought it was the real one ! But, may I dare a question ? i thought that the MkI car with the round spotlights instead of square lights and blinkers under the lower front light cover had necessarily a amber blinker light on the side of front fenders. With such a level of details...

What Size CR6ZZ AVONs are you running?

I'm running 215 front and 275 rear on my GTD (standard body), I initially ran 225 front and 295 on rear, but I found them too large. I'm happier by far in 215 front (no more rubbing in the arches), and in 275 the tires are more inside the rear arches. Better looking, IMHO.

    Dual Stewart Warner 240 plumbing

Right ! That was I intended to say, one single should theorically not have sufficient capacity, thus the plumbing on the pic I posted (which I will use, as soon as I could). Typed the wrong word, sorry !

    Dual Stewart Warner 240 plumbing

Be careful, the real problem is if the pumps have waited a decade or so on a shelf for a new life in your pride and joy's engine bay, the inner switch gasket (not replacable) has probably dried (small cracks in it), meaning it is f..cked up. The pump will then run dry (or with some carb cleaner...

    Dual Stewart Warner 240 plumbing

I suppose you've found some good fuelproof switches, the achilles heel of these pumps. I'm personnaly looking for a good one for years... Here is a pic of 1074 engine bay. I've been said that one single pump has sufficient capacity to feed a good hot/street 347 SBF, but if you check the...

    Wheels GTD Mark 1

    Wheels GTD Mark 1

If I consider that you have the "basic" GTD with granada original setup, 10x15 rear should be considered as a maximum IMHO. I've had some 295x15 Avon some time ago on 10x15 wheels, but finally downsized to 275. Altough something smaller will provide a better look, IMHO again, with the wheels...

    SM 450 fuel tank cap

Hi all, just a question, for those who know... I've noticed on few original GT40s I had access to, that specific fuel tank cap, with a cast support base, wearing "SM 450" on it. I've also seen these exact fuel caps on many old replicas, including my faithful 1986 GTD, pictured below. But, it...
