Some update, on behalf of Serge... "Today morning, I wake up early, happy of this nice day to come, not even cold, altought we're in mid december... All is ready this morning, for the engine now to take place in the GT. There's theory, and real life, I'm gonna see there's a difference...

Looking for a set of Door Boxes

I maybe wrong but I've seen a picture of the cockpit of one of these cars few years ago, and as far as I remember the inner doors are not done the same as RCR. They have a kind of recess on border. A GTD/SGT/Tornado set of boxes should fit IMHO...

    GT40 Mk1

What a disappointment to have no more chance to see this splendid work of art turn into a completed race car... Altough, hope the new owner will show us what will became of this beauty. Thanks for having shared those detailed pictures, and good luck for your next project.

    Porsche 908/910 project

Sorry Michel to add to this thread drift, that deserves your fantastic work, but I have to say to Jacques I disagree with him on that point... Jacques, I fully respect who owns, carefully and jealously keeps and use respectfully any testimony of the past human engineering hability (I do...

    Help Please--917 Engine Fan Info

If you love 917, here are some pics of the incredible car that had just stopped behind me, as I'was working on a fuel leak on my friend's GT40 in the pits of Le Castellet track, last sunday. Put off the wrenches, to have a look at this "thing" ! 1300hp (I was said ! ), and it seemed to be...

    original GT40 Sbarro

I have to add that, with Serge we found evidences that the car was originally fitted with a real period correct GT40 289 engine, and we are sure it had initially a 4 bolts dash-1 ZF. When Serge bought the car, engine and gearbox were missing. Now they are probably powering a splendid and...

    A Riviera scratchbuilt GT40

Bonjour René, Which gulf colours combo will you chose...? The paint schemes were different between the 3 cars competing at Le Mans. 1075 with the orange "moustache" 1074 with the orange stripe (like my car you've seen at Le Mans Classic) 1076 with the orange triangle on the front hood, that...

    Oil cooler on SPF

Hi all, I've always loved the look of the "tower" oil cooler which I've seen on few SPF GT40s, like the one pictured below. I'd like to put one on my car. They desperately look like vintage Harrison 12-Bolts oil coolers, used on continental air-cooled aircraft engines, but I suppose that some...

    Rear Clamshell

It seems to me that the rear bracket is almost the same than the front one (strip of alu, 2 bolts as you noticed), maybe just lightly bent at one end, where a loop in the cable engages, to clear the fiberglass...

    original GT40 Sbarro

May I help for translation, and add few details to the story... Serge means that the guys who restored his wheels (aluminum) machined one of them a little bit too much, as it was in poor condition. Setting back the old tires on the wheels, just to move the car more easily in the workshop...
