    Mclaren M8b replica (visual)

I am not a metalurgic expert ...but this is what I understood : The 25CD4S designation has a US AISI/SAE equivalent which is 4125 ; it seems that the close designation 4130 is more common in US. Both are typical chromolly steels, performing more than mild steels. CD 4 stands for 1.2 %...

    Header Fabrication

To bring my 2 cents to the subject , these are the headers I made for my 302/331 SBF on a scratchbuilt GT40 ; from this first experience I keep in mind the following main points : *SS 304 ( 1.6 to 2 mm thick) with pre-fabricated bends is a very valuable solution. Needs some patience, but...

    Recommend a cable shifter?

Scott, I used those 6x1.0 Midwest Control cables with the Toyota shifter and got good results .... They are fairly stiff and strong ( Industrial parts ...) and the 21 cm throw lenght is an advantage for less angular flexion during the stroke operation ..... Note : I kept the 6x1.0...

    Recommend a cable shifter?

Andrew , The junkyard solution is obviously the easier way to go .... To your 2 questions : *Yes I made the support braket ; easy to make with 10 mm thick aluminum. Anyway , from a junkyard , you should get the pressed steel support console which goes with the shifter itself ...

    Recommend a cable shifter?

Andrew, I got my shifter from a junkyard ... But during my investigations, I had from a Toyota dealer, the part number information : # 33575 (or # 32050 ...) for the 1990 cast version in a Corolla. From recall, they told me that Toyota went to a plastic version the year after...

    A Riviera scratchbuilt GT40

I finally achieved the varnish polish, getting a "polish-elbow" on the way ! I used an electric spinning polisher, but that was not enought to avoid some desagrements ... As expected , blue color and general gloss are a little bit lighter than straight out of the cabin .... At this time ...
