Also, Crusader Rabbit, Winky-Dink, Ding Dong School, The U.S. Steel Hour, Playhouse 90--you Brits must have your own, but the era these of ours appeared in aren't called the Golden Years for nothing! Now then, my previous post. I apologize to David Morton personally and the community generally...

    Fuel Tanks Safety

I have absolutely no experience with fuel tank design and construction, but my concern would be that aluminum alloys have no fatigue strength, and repeated flexing, no matter how small, eg engine vibration, road bumps, etc., will eventually cause it to crack. I'm sure that life cycle limits are...

David, I have enjoyed your posts on flying and life in general over the years but, with respect, you stepped on you foreskin here. Hearing that someone else has been where I’ve been, or enjoyed the same trivial things I did, makes me smile. Keith, perhaps too. You don’t understand, fine, but it...

    Fuel Tanks Safety

That make so much good sense it's a head-slapper. If you're really concerned about those first drives, a second car following may id when a leak occurs -hard braking -left hand cornering, etc. by watching the pavement for wet spots, and if its carrying an extinguisher, you've got a third...

Jack- I'm old enough to remember sitting in front of the Philco radio on Friday night and listening to The Shadow- Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men?- and Inner Sanctum, with the sound effect of the door creaking as it opened. It sounds like you might have listened to them too. Did...

Brian – I was back in the Auld sod in 1969, but I just remember my grandmother saying County Cork was where grandfather’s parents were buried. She came over on the boat herself from England about the same time he arrived from Ireland, and evidently when she announced she was marrying a heathen...

Keith- You may not have heard of this one of your former colony's women who would also seem to have had an unfortunate name. She was the daughter of Jim Hogg, the Governor of my state of Texas from 1890 to 1894 who made his fortune after he left politics from the Spindletop oil discovery in...

Fitz was it back in the day, Doug, and around here it might be less confusing, since you got first dibs on Dougliness! How goes the Cleavland?

    Electronics question

Bill – You're probably sick of advicd and I hope this isn't along the lines of "What time is it?", – "Here's how you build a watch." But a little bit of technical background might help you as you go along on this project. The Hall effect transistor is simply a semiconductor that’s sensitive...

Brian- Which CAD? I've used AutoCAD and Rhino 3D. I think Rhino is more intuitive and just as accurate as AC but the instructions are crap unless you're doing mostly compound curved surfaces like a body shell. And greatings from a 3rd generation ex-pat from County Cork!

    Real GT40 Bellhousing dimension

Brian, The front to back overall bellhousing dimension is a nominal 4.00 inches. The engine side of the bellhousing is flush, the transaxle is aligned against the bell housing by a 0.125” x 0.125”ring machined into its face which matches a circular step on the transaxle, so allow for that in...

Keith- At first glance, your post looked like it was from someone looking for sympathy. But I’ve know what a sorry for himself sounds like, and reading your whole post and your profile, I don’t think you are. I don't know you, I don't know your music, and I can’t possibly make suggestions for...

    Electronics question

Bill, with a two line sensor what you've got is the magnetic equivalent of a microphone. The signals it generates as a bolt heads passed by are probably amplified at some point before they're usable by your speedometer. If you can open the speedometer and locate the circuit that does that...

    Parts Source List

I mentioned Access because it's based on a form peridigm front-end to the actual DB, and you can design a a password protected entry form with filters to catch most errors, and contact buttons to send an email for forgotten passwords, etc. The query form looks a lot like the advanced search...

    Weber Help Please !

I'm rebuilding my HiPo 289 and have a new linkage, so I'm going to have to go through the whole set-up process again. It's been several years since I've done it and I've copied and pasted your post into my notebook to have on-hand when I get to that stage. Thanks for your well written summary...
