PROGRESS REPORT ROARING FORTIES, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Hershal, and all our SA built car Owners, I have GOOD news to pass on regarding the completion of our South African cars. The bodywork is now being made and all moulds finished. This has taken much longer than I expected but the quality is exceptional. There were a few blemishes and other...

Front and Aft body work hold open Lanyard location ?

Dan, I have attached a couple of photos of where the brackets mount to the body. The measurements aren't critical other that to say that the body must be beyond its centre of gravity ie, putting tension on the stay.

    Gear Change panel RF RHD

We use a combined "stretcher and shrinker" at the shop in Australia. These are available from Eastwoods which is where I purchased mine (some years ago at the Carslile Show). Other ways can be used such as a series of small "L" brackets on the curved section and this is how we did our first...

    Coil packs for Motec?

Al, MoTeC do not make mutch except for their EMS and Dashes. The majority of their parts are supplied by outside contractors to their agents for instalation. By this I mean that the MoTeC USA guys would use a MoTeC M800 engine management system with some other manifold and components. MoTeC...

    Brake bias valve

Chris, Hershal, It is very good to see that Hershal came up with more or less exactly what we set the bias valve to with his own experimentation. We set the bias at "3 turns" back where Hershal uses 3 1/4 turns. The is a personal thing and will also vary from one car to another. By this I mean...

Al, Great to meet up with you and John today. Dan is due in here at our hotel in a few minutes (actually he is late). For the record I believe we are FIRST and SECOND in our class after the autocross section. Tommorow is the road coarse and the REAL fun will start. I hope the rain stays away...

    It has to be said....

Sturart, As a founder member of this forum I must say that asking for proprity information from others is a little worying. You openly offer a set of drawings for a GTD. I am not aware that you have purchased the rights for these drawings and I wonder how the owner of these drawings would think...

PROGRESS REPORT ROARING FORTIES, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Ben, Bill, Brad, Al, and all, I to was not happy with the transfer of information from Cape Town to Australia. This was because they were up to their buts in alligators as I believe you say in the US (please correct me if I am wrong). I asked Andre to help with this matter and those who have...

Pat, These are spare wires for a stereo or "what-ever". I do not think you need a stereo as there is an "8 speaker" system in the boot (an engine). Best wishes, Robert

A question for the taller RF drivers

Dan, et all, The reason we dropped the floor was to improve the under car air flow. The SIDE advantage was that taller drivers could fit into the car and that the driving position was much better. Your steering wheel was at chest height and therefore you could use those muscles when driving and...
