    Heat insulation blanket

Rolk, We use "contact" adhesive on both the matting and the body and then once semi-cured put them together. The only time they have let go is when the under side of the body has not been keyed correctly (take the sheen off with a sanding disc and definately NO paint). I hope this helps, Best...

    Trimming light covers

Simon, At Roaring Forties workshop in Australia we also use a cutting disc (3mm. thick) and sanding disc but on an air driven grinder. We have tried many ways of cutting and cracked numereous pieces and the cutting disc is by far the most consistant. Best wishes, Robert

Would this water pump be the correct type,,,,,

Dan, We use the water pump from the Ford crate engine (M6007-B50/51). The numbers will be in the Ford Motorsport catelogue. I wanted to keep the front of the engine simple and therefore easy to service anywhere in the world. I hope this helps, Best wishes, Robert

    Tach

John, I hardly think that your last comments are fair !!!!! I have contacted you by phone and suggested that you take the car to your local MoTeC agent as my staff are not aware of what is wrong. It is very difficult to fault diaginouse from so far away. One of the conditions that I do not...

    Kinsler Throttle Body diameter recomendations

David, The standard RF injection system is 45mm. This will flow up to about 470 - 480 HP before the mixtures get a lot rich (not enough air for the fuel delivered). This car runs well everywhere else and is almost civil for road use. 50mm. / 52mm. (read 2") would take you up another almost 25%...

    Fibreglassing suggestions on RF doors

Re: Fibreglassing sugestions on RF doors Dan et all, The moulds were made from an original car that had been involved in an accident on the left hand side. The car was originally like a "banana" and there was over 600 hours spent on correcting the shape and more importantly getting the gaps...

Im looking for a gt 40 kit

This is a hot one. I reply to one post and there are three more already there. Well I do type slowly and did do a lot of editing. Responding to the photographs by Kalum. The chassis is I think the "Factory Five " new coupe, please correct me if I am wrong. There are many areas of weakness in...

Im looking for a gt 40 kit

Trevor, I have just been phoned from the other side of the world about this e-mail. I have repeated EXACTLY what my Registered Engineering Signatory has reported to me. I have all the supporting documentation at my work and would be happy to show you it if you would honour Roaring Forties with...

RF overdrive 5th gear for Audi 016

John, Love the look of the car and the location. The reason for the "wine" is the overlap of the gears. We used a large overlap to spread the loading on the gears. Regarding the R&P, I was quoted Aus$ 1980 per set if I ordered 10 sets. I passed on this at US$ 1800 (please check the...

    Aluminum flywheel?

Inertia (I) is equal to Mass (m) times Radius of Gyration Squared (k2). The units of Inertia are therefore kg.m2 (not per m2). Obviously the mass is important as reducing the mass using an aluminium flywheel reduces the Inertia. I have assumed that the mass is lower and the purchase of the...

    Bolts and washers ?

Frank, Brian et all, Welcome to the land of SUBJECTIVITY !!!! This is the sort of stuff that the builders and manufacturers in Australia have been forced to deal with for decades. A set of rules originated by an Australian governing body which is administered or enforced by individuals. Be...

    Ohio MDA

Julian, I MUST concur with Chris on this one. I also feel that the rear chassis needs some sort of stiffening particularly as the engine / box is not a structural member in this car. I have not examined a MDA chassis up close and I am wary about commenting on NON COMPLETED stuff. In Australia...

    Hershal in hospital

I am sure that all our friends would like to pass on our kindest thoughts to Hershal. I spoke with Paula , Hershal's wife, this morning (Australia time) and she passed on to me that Hershal had been held overnight in hospital for observation. I believe that he has some allergy. I hope he gets...

Al, We are developing a six / five speed sequential gearbox with a company here in Australia. The gearbox was designed by a guy who used to work for X-trag in the UK who are very famous in this area with many F1 clients. The box will have both normal and dog gear options and has inspection...

    RF web site changes

Well I am realy dissapointed that none of you surfers have spotted this before I had the chance to release it. The jungle drums have let me down for the FIRST time. Once into our site have a look at the "showroom" area to see some interactive stuff. This work has taken a very long time and is a...
