    MoTec Engine Management

Et all; Firstly let me state that Richard Bendell the BOSS of MoTeC is a freind of mine. This is because of the help that he and his staff gave me from day one with my car. The MoTeC system that we used to get the car through emmisssions here in Australia had to have special software written to...

    Australian Grand Prix 2005

Dan, Lots of space to get a real good view. I recommend "Brocky's Hill" which has a great view of a real tight bend and then a long accelerating bend. There is also a BIG screen opposite to keep you up to date. This area is frequented by the Irish , so it is a quiet and reserved area with very...

    1st RF in UK

The FIRST car has left for the UK and ON TIME. The car will take some six weeks on the water and then another two weeks to clear customs and be forwarded to its new owner. I am sure that either Jerry or Rick would be more than happy to comment on the car when she arrives. Best wishes, Robert

A Roaring Forties with all the Options !

Thank you for all the nice comments. Yes they are Chris's valve covers. The splitter is our own and does work. The fire system lines are only plastic coated and have a metal sheeth inside. Now for the GOOD news : I drove her today for the first time. F**k she is quick. I am glad it has all the...

    mda vs. rf

Did the MDA make an appearance at the Goodwood meeting. I believe it was supposed to be there. If so someone must have some photographs of her. Best wishes, Robert

Dimension of seat belt cut out in bulkhead

Dan, I must say that I think that a FOUR point harness is all that is required for a driver. Apart from a belt trying to detach the "crown jewels" from their rightfull place between my legs , I am sure that I will be pressing hard on the STOP pedle and my eyes will be wide SHUT the moment...

Who would be the foremost authority on the GT40 ?

Hershal, Chris Melia would be one of the most knowledgable GT40 guys on this forum. He has a membership number of "40" for the club in England and with that number was obviously there from the start. He sat in an original in the "60 and has had a love affair ever since. I believe he is also a...

Dimension of seat belt cut out in bulkhead

Dan, The only requirement is that the belt and the buckle can pass through the hole that is cut. We usually make a cover which we paint black. Technically the cover is known as an echucian. Hope this helps, Robert

    Wiring Harness

Pat, Slight mistake, the earth wire is already attached (black wire) just mount her on the back of the nearest instrument. Robert

    Wiring Harness

Pat, The item in your photograph is a "voltage stabiliser" and is part of the Smiths instruments. The Smiths require a stabile voltage and not the varing voltage supplied by every alternator. This item supplies exactly the correct voltage and that same voltage at ALL times. The important thing...

A Roaring Forties with all the Options !

JP, They are 16" and 255mm. . We made the centers ourselves with slightly longer spokes to keep everything in proportion. I am very pleased with the "LOOK" and also the size, decent breaks etc. Well as a foot note this beast took its first breath today. The final spanner check was done this...

    dimension of bulkhead window opening

Dan, We use 8mm. as our gap round the glass to allow for the rubbers. The only worries about the fitting of the mid-screen is that the rubber should be above and JUST touching the bushes for the seat belt harnesses. The window is also fitted centrally. Hope this helps, Best wishes, Robert

    Wiring Harness

Pat, The dash wiring is designed to do EXACTLY that. In Australia we have to have our speedo in the PREMIER VIEWING AREA but just because we have to do this why spoil all the fun for everybody. Best wishes, Robert

    Heater Core

Pat, The heater and A/C are in the same unite. In Australia we MUST have a heater to comply with the Australian Design Rules to demist the front screen. We all know that the A/C will demist the screen faster but the "rules are the rules". We have many cars that do not connect up the heaters and...

    Mark's Xtreme GT40 First Drive

Re: Mark\'s Xtreme GT40 First Drive Mark, Since I first saw some early pictures of this car, I have been waiting to see her finished. In my opinion this has to be one of the finest pieces of work I have ever seen. You should be very, very proud of your achievement Mark. I am sure the car is...

GT40 pics from Sandown race meeting

Congratulations Ross. Richard Bendell told me on Monday evening of your 1 min. 20 sec time. I think that is almost 3 seconds faster than Richard has done in his Daytona. I was so pleased to hear THAT !!!!!!! Keep the flag flying. Best wishes, Robert

    Fuel return port/line

Rich, Our cars are fitted with 2 transfer pumps both with filters, 1 injection pump with both pre and post filters and the system has three fuel tanks with a solenoid valve controlling the return fuel from the fuel rails. The system works very well. Best wishes, Robert

A Roaring Forties with all the Options !

Thank you for all the comments, but all I do is pay the bills, my staff are the artists. The splitter is our own and I have one on my own GT40 which WORKS at speed but scrapes like a snow plough !!!!! The car was expensive but should break 4 seconds 0 - 100 kph and is geared to 200 MPH at 7500...

CAV gt40 parts source for broken Audi/Getrag?

Joseph, We have an exchange 5 th. gear that will bring down the revs in top gear. We have already fitted it to a customers car here in Australia (he is not on this forum) and are fitting it to Norman Falkiners car this week. The first customer was so impressed with the difference that he...

    Caster Setting

Pat etc. , I have not replied to this thread for the reason that I am reluctant to pass such sensitive information. The suspension was designed with a ratio between the front and rear rose joints so that the upright can be moved out parrallel thus allowing seperate , independant adjustment. Of...
