    Chuck and Ryan's RCR Build

I have something similar on my car. It also prevents the handle from banging on the body. Good job

Tie down of car in or on trailer

I just had my GT40 towed home and the tow guy put the straps through the rims and then attached the 2" wide ratchet straps to them. The car didn't move and the suspension was allowed to move. I plan to do the same thing when I use my trailer

    RCR #010 Build Progress

I think I'm going to replace both rear bearing assemblies with upgraded tapered roller bearing units. A bit more expensive. I talked to Dean Lampe about them and he agrees they would be better for my application. Also, as noted by Fran and others, I will Loctite the threads and torque the...

Thanks for the offer Keith, but we have the tools already to accomplish the job. However, I would like to know what size hex the pins are so I can buy one to fit my torque wrench. Thanks

    RCR #010 Build Progress

I checked the studs and they have not been shortened. However, I was able to make a tool that tightened them The ends did not stick out past the recessed hex. So the $60K question is, how could they have been pressed out?

    RCR #010 Build Progress

I received the car with the pin drive adapters already mounted. I assume the studs were shortened by Fran before the kit was delivered.

    RCR #010 Build Progress

Couldn't sleep this morning thinking about the wheel problem. I got it up on jackstands, removed the wheel, and brake caliper to find this... All the studs are either loose or broken. All the little pins that screw to the lugs were off (?????). Pulled the rotor and the inside looks...

    RCR #010 Build Progress

After Xmas, I'll replace all 4. I hate having to pay $700+ for something that should not have failed after only 1 mile of easy driving.

    RCR #010 Build Progress

When we loaded the car on the tow truck, the right rear had about 15 deg of camber and was REAL wobbly.

    RCR #010 Build Progress

We got the car all done and took her on her maiden drive. A total failure!! Right rear bearing seized about a mile from home. Had to have it towed. And because the bearing seized, the car wouldn't roll off the flatbed. We had to use a floor jack to raise teh right rear wheel off the ground.

    Need Help With Ignition Gremlins

Discovered the source of my timing gremlins!!! I called the Crane Tech line and spoke to one of their techs. I explained my problem and the symptoms. Before I could even finish, he said I have a bad module in the distributor (its all electronic, no springs or weights for timing advance). He...

    Need Help With Ignition Gremlins

Thanks everyone. I'm going to call Crane Tech today and talk with them as well as try your suggestions tonight when I get home. This is extremely frustrating. Just seems I'm not making any progress. And I still have all the paperwork. :) Cheers Bill D

    Need Help With Ignition Gremlins

I can move the distributor by hand and the timing changes. But when I rev the engine, it doesn't change. I just tried it again and the car backfires through the mufflers. I'm beginning to think the distributor gear is disintegrating.
