    Need Help With Ignition Gremlins

Last Sunday, we thought we had tuned and timed the car. Tonight I fired it up and the problems returned. It only fires on 4 cylinders. Hooked up the timing ligt and nothing on #1 sparkplug. Shut the engine down and restarted it. Now all 8 fire. Tried to set the timing to 10deg BTDC and the...

Thanks. We were able to tune the webers and set the timing yesterday. In the video, the engine is only running on 4 cylinders. That's why the black smoke and slow reving. I'm not sure how it even ran with the timing so retarded. We set the timing at 10 deg BTDC and leaned the idle mix 1...

    I Desperately Need Help

Here is an old picture that shows the problem. The bellhousing has an integral pocket for the starter. as you can see, it won't clear the rounded bottom portion of the chassis. Putting the engine and transaxle in as a unit is easy as it drops in. But with the engine in, the bellhousing won't...

    I Desperately Need Help

Ross The chassis was not originally designed to use a ZF. I small pocket had to be cut into the chassis to fit the starter. So when I try to push it in, it hits the chassis. I have to go at an angle which causes the input shaft to not make a straight shot into the clutch and pilot bushing.
