    Be careful when developing a "tree" to adapt various sending units or hoses. I have seen the various short lengths of pipe fracture at the threads from vibration and shock, especially if using Brass.

    Alternator Belt Dilemma

    If the belt is too narrow it will only contact the pulleys on the flat at the bottom of the "V". Or as stated, if one accessory (alt or WP) binds up the crank will burn a flat spot on the belt and ultimately burn through it.

    Big Foot has the right answer. Silicone "Flows" too easily when clamped, because there are no Binders in it as there are in "The Right Stuff". Use it once and you'll forget what silicone is or was............no comparison.

    Re: Weber MAX CFMs I think you would gleen a lot of information on 50 & 55 DCOE's if you were to get in touch with a knowlegable Toyota Formula Atlantic engine builder. I think the top runners really learned how to massage the carbs.

    If you decide to plug the hole, use a threaded tapered pipe plug, an unthreaded press fit metal plug can get pulled into the combustion chamber, and it makes a mess.

    Webers or injection?

    Dean: Pulling out of the corners and accelerating down the straights is a function of Torque. Without attempting to change your ideas, is it possible that the larger venturis (while in search of top end HP) have softened up the torque curve and made it not quite as responsive as you would like?
