Yes currently screws are open about 3/4 turn. Still have the slight miss. But it is only apparent at cruise speed (60 mph) not while accelerating with light throttle through the gears. Main jet ?? Air Corrector?? If I increase the throttle the least little (Very little) bit the miss goes away...

289's & 302's in the 60's & 70's ran 13# caps. 302's in the 80's & 90's were running 16# caps. They used reinforced rubber hoses for upper and lower radiator connections no metal tubes. I dont think a typical 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" OEM rubber hose would withstand more than about 16#.

They make 2 different springs for that type regulator. Search Summit, Jegg or your local speed shop. Spring is about $4.50.

Many of the newer aftermarket heads now utilize a wider bolt pattern for the header flanges to allow for larger tubes. You may want to compare dimensions with some of those (World Products, comes to mind as well as some of the specialized Edelbrock stuff). Maybe you will be able to find some...
