    Something is missing

Mike, Here is the link: Le Mans in GT40, LM Classic 2008 - YouTube Notice the rpm of his shift points and then listen on the straights. He revs higher down the straights and sounds like he lifts to avoid over reving. If that is a 220 mph speedo, then he is doing 200 on the straight. Therefore...

    Flaps to Minimize Tire Debris

I have addressed both sealing the front and rear wheel well areas in my build log "Tornado GT40 in Texas". I will repeat some of it and update it here. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comThe next photo shows rubber strips added that seal off the small gaps when the front...

3d CAD tool, wich is the best suited?

There are several folks on this forum modeling GT40s. I think most if not all are using SolidWorks. I would be good to use the same as them in case you want to share files. However all the popular modeling software can exchange files.

    Superlite GT-R Fog Lights/Turn Signals

My Tornado GT40 kit came with a turn indicator that only had one light element. In the USA, we need a turn light and a park light. I found a direct replacement from this website. Classic Austin Mini Turn Signal And Park Lamp Asse It has two light elements. I don't know if you were wanting...

    Wiring harness question.

Shawn, <FONT face=Arial><FONT alt=" border=" 0?>I’m building a Tornado GT40. It came with a wiring harness but it had circuits I didn’t need and I needed some circuits that it didn’t have. All they provided was an illustrated wiring diagram that showed how the wires connect to the switches and...

    P2334 Registered in TX

Tim, When I registered mine two years ago, I titled it as a 1966 Ford GT replica. The "replica" process was very simple. You just needed the MSO and then you title it as a "replica". No inspection or anything else. When I registered it, I just needed to show insurance on the car and I...

    Throttle Cable

Tom, Yes, I have already removed one of the redundant springs. Mine had two springs on the TPS side and three on the non-TPS side. I removed the spring at the end of the non-TPS side. It is still a bit stiff. This would be just fine for track use, but on a long cruise you might get tired...

    Jonas BEC GT40

Jonas, There is a flow path from the bottom of the radiator to beneath the car. Incoming air will prefer to go below the radiator instead of through the radiator. I built a cover for this in post #130 in my build log...

    Throttle Cable

Yuji, I would check the return springs on the throttle. If they are too stiff, then the pedal will be hard to push. The problem would not be fixed with another cable. This is the problem I have with my Borla 8 stack fuel injection. The second issue that I would check is the motion or lever...

Pete, I like the Germid, http://www.cargpsbluetooth.com/produ...camera-display<!-- google_ad_section_end --> . Now we just have to find a camera with the resolution of the display (1280 x 400). I investigated all of this almost two years ago...

    Shift patern .

John, .. 1 3 5 R 2 4 I found a shift knob from a Mercedes that has this pattern printed on it. (I had to add the dots here to make it space properly since this editor takes away spaces). You need the reverse lockout mainly to help you find first. I presume you have the bar...

    Acquired a P68

Grady, I have several GMP 1:12 scale models of the GT40. As you probably know, these are very high end and advertised on eBay for upwards of $2500. I can sell them for much less if you are interested. Here are links to the models. GMP 1:12 1966 Ford GT40 #5- Bucknum/Hutcherson- Le...
