    Making Brackets?

I've actually had very good luck with HF (the toy store LOL) tools & I use them hard. The thing is today even the "name brands" are being made overseas (China). So you're paying for the name but the tools are only about the same quality (forget Craftsman any more). Home Depot carries some pretty...

    My Lotus build

Ian yeah those are nice & probably would have gotten ones like that (I like the chrome trim too). If I'd seen them before buying the ones I have. I may but a polished aluminum panel behind them. Or maybe have it anodized gold to match the paint I'm planning for the car Black (with blue pearl)...

Thanks Jack I'm using a PPG poli primer. You catalyze it just like FG resin. Sands pretty well not like some I've used that are too hard.

    My Lotus build

Today's update comes to us from the "Oh so you think it's smooth" file. Otherwise known as put it on & sand it off LOL I started the prime & sand phase on the first fender. The rear section I got the tail light frames cut out & started priming & sanding. They're a lot easier to sand the inside...

    Making Brackets?

There are getting to be a lot of places doing laser or water jet cutting these days. Sure make nice clean cut edges. Well worth having them do the cutting. I remember flame cutting (cutting torch hand held) pieces & the hours of grinding to get them to look decent. Oh by the way. Don't forget a...

Who's car is the blue one? It looks like a conventional soap box derby car. I still have my official wheels, axles & steering wheel from the one I built about 1964. Now add a small block Chevy & you might have something LOL

1965 Replica/Kit Makes AC Cobra 1965 AC Cobra Reproduction

I've never understood why people list things with super low starting prices. But put a reserve on them. Why not just start it at your minimum? I hate biding on something not knowing if it'll sell even if I'm the high bidder. I've passed on more than a few things just because they have a reserve.

    Naked

Found this interesting picture (GT40 porn?) of a naked 40 chassis. Don't often get a view of the insides with the skin removed. Look at all those stampings they had to make. Funny it came up while searching for Mclaren chassis pictures LOL

    My Lotus build

Been just chugging away on the Lotus. The intake manifold came the other day. Rather a disappointment though. Will take a whole lot of porting & very rough casting to be from a manifold company. Picked up my crank today (had it turned .20 under) & ordered the bearings too. My cam, springs...

    McLaren M1 replica

How good did you find the Autotune chassis kit to be? Was it easy to work with from instructions & their supplied cuts (I assume it was in pieces?) Or was it an assembled & welded piece? Talking to Richard about possibly buying one from them. Cheers Mike

    GT40 replica sold eBay

Sometimes things like divorce or emergencies force a sale. It's like most luxury items, it's only worth what someone will give you. If time is of the essence then you take what you can get. Somebody got a steal, I'd have been tempted if I'd known about it, Corrona is only about 30 min. from me.
