    "GT40" crate engine

Re: \"GT40\" crate engine There was no engine number on my crate engine either. Had to stamp it myself based on a number allocated by my engineer.

    Racing Suit Question

[ QUOTE ] How about a HANS device or other similar devices. [/ QUOTE ] The HANS device is still a new product and you will find many arguments for and against. In my opinion, the HANS device is an excellent product and will probably become as common as the safety harness eventually...

    Aerodynamics

That particular comment had been deliberately used extensively in all the Ford GT promotional write ups and you can bet that there is always some commercial license taken whenever promotions are involved. Sure there was lift in the front of that GT40, but what might be "an incredible amount of...

A Roaring Forties with all the Options !

Andy, I'm trying to find a happy medium between an all-out race car and a road car. The option of a dry sump has all sorts of implications on a road car not least of which is having to remove the aircon pump to make room for the dry sump system. If your GT40 is anything like mine, even a mildly...

    The Right .........

[ QUOTE ] Then as soon as the monster is gone the wennie under the bed starts complaining about EVERYTHING [/ QUOTE ] I’m not sure that I follow the argument and how it relates to patriotism being offensive, but I would have thought that the coward under the bed was the person who wrote the...

    Roll bar and Race Harness

Thanks Ross. I have the same eyelets provided with my roll bar too but the problem is that they sit immediately behind the seat and would force me to move the seat forward (or modify the seat). Did you have to deal with that problem?

    Roll bar and Race Harness

Thanks Hersh. The pics are a bit dark to see the detail but it gives me a vague idea. Would I be correct in saying that Richards car has the dropped floor? (as opposed to the lowered floor on mine). It seems that the cross brace is higher relative to the top of the seats so he can get away...

    Roll bar and Race Harness

I'm in the process of fitting an RF Roll bar into my car and just about to drill the holes. However, I understand that there are a number of variations to the way a safety harness would be attached to it. Does anyone have any pictures of the way they did it? My preference is to loop it around...

Just being a bit mischievous here but I have just read an article on the new Aston Martin DB9 Volante V12.. 0-100kmh in less than 5 seconds in a car that weighs in at 50% more than a GT40. Aston Martin being a part of the Ford group of companies I just couldn’t help but think of the...
