    RCR40 video

This is a great video about a builder, and his car- which happens to be an RCR40. Great story, and a very well-shot video. Check it out here: Eric Dean’s Temple: A rowdy home-built Ford GT40 | Why I Drive - Ep. 1 - YouTube"]Eric Dean’s Temple: A rowdy home-built Ford GT40 | Why I Drive - Ep...

    A.J.'s SL-C build thread

I agree with Frank- you need to cut the openings higher in the seat for the shoulder harness if you are reclining the seat so much. Mounting the seat more upright obviates the need to enlarge the openings. Also, if you are using a seat with high sides like the one you have, you always need to...

Getting in and out of a Superlite

You can fit in the SLC if you take care in building it to fit you, though you should plan to be really reclined, and have a removable steering wheel. The GTR is much easier for big-and-tall folks.

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

Great report, Howard. Are you running the FG or carbon wing?

    Hippo Ear Mounting?

Most builders mount them on top of the window, like Pete above (and me). Usually, the leading edge of the mirror is lined up with the edge of the window. Mounting them this way make it more difficult to remove the window from the outside, which is arguably a security bonus.

    New canards

Since apparently others are going to install these, I strongly recommend these transfer screws- they made the install possible with no extra holes, etc.

    New canards

Yes, Henry @ Chiron did most of the work on the Aspira, and these are from that project.

    New canards

They are available from Henry Nickless at Chiron World Sportscars in the UK. You can get them in FG or CF. Here's a link to them.

    New canards

It's winter, and the driving season for this year is still months away. So this is the time to get a couple of things done on the SLC. One task was to install these carbon fiber canards on the car. Ed helped out and we got them installed in about 2 hours. It would be half that time for the...

Adding the Clutch Pressure Switch to the Wiring

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "and the power to the Infinity harness" but running 12v to a regular mastercell input is the easiest way to blow it up known to man. Unless you have an Invert in front, you need to always ground the wire from the Infinitybox mastercell (the Invert does...

Barett Jackson just sold a 2011 SL-C - anyone here?

Both are correct. The hammer price was $115K, and a 10% buyers premium makes it $126,500 as the amount actually paid by the purchaser.

Adding the Clutch Pressure Switch to the Wiring

Later kits have the logic for the CSS, but not all of them, apparently. The short version is that one terminal on the switch goes to ground, the other to whatever pin in the Mastercell Infinitybox says to use. That's all, assuming the programming is already there. If not, you can send the boxes...

Barett Jackson just sold a 2011 SL-C - anyone here?

It was Stage7's car. It had a very high-end LS engine from HKE with Jenvey throttle bodies, a Ricardo, HRE wheels, custom paint color (mixed by the owner/builder) and a class-leading interior.

    Alternator Connector Plug

Mark, be sure your alternator needs a simple 12V signal. Most don't and sending them a 12V signal on the exciter terminal (usually "L") may damage it. That's why the GMPP harness has a resistor inline- so the voltage is reduced.

Carbon wing - what setting are people using?

I'm running mine on the street, not the track, so factor that in. The range of effectiveness is remarkably narrow for this wing, which has a Selig 1223 profile (IIRC). It begins to stall at 14 degrees AOA, which isn't much. See...

    Design An Emblem?

I ran a design contest on one of those sites on the internet. Had about 30 submissions, and Fran (and I) liked this one best. We are working on a linear badge design- do you like the one on the minisplit above? That's my fave so far. But I want to focus on the round badge first.

    Design An Emblem?

Thanks! The blue badge in the pictures is the same badge, so the difference is due to lighting. That's one of the small changes we are considering. I agree that the black/red combo doesn't have enough contrast. Yeah, the car has always needed better badging, and now that is coming to...

    Design An Emblem?

Anyone can use anything on their car, but please note that Mason's design isn't the official one - which is in progress. We've been trying to get them to be a reasonable price, and that is taking time. For those who want to wait for the official logos, here's a sample of what we are hoping to...
