    Destroked LS7?

Yeah, reading around on LS1Tech and Corvetteforum it looks like the valve-train would definitely be the Achilles heel of the build. The thing I like about the destroked LS7 idea is that even with the reduced displacement you're still looking at something around 6.2L or so depending on the final...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Here's another vote for the Chevron B8. It could be a blast with a high output 4-cylinder or whatever else you can squeeze in there. I also like the front lip on this GT40: Could the lip ever become a possible option?

    New RCR transaxle?

I noticed on the Griffin site that there is a link for a 7 speed gearbox. Is this going to be an option?

    Destroked LS7?

This is true however I don't want to feel like I have to tip-toe around 1st either. I'm not talking about cruising, I'm talking about driving in anger under hard acceleration. Do you just light em up? If you can't put the power down, it's a waste. That would be my concern. I would...

    Destroked LS7?

I know you're a fan of big cubes. Do you even use first gear in your Cobra? The valve-train would be one of my concerns but I don't think 8000rpms is out of the question. I was looking at the Katech Sneak Attack engine as an example and it seems it could be improved upon. Intake choice would...

    Destroked LS7?

I am just curious to get some opinions on this with the SL-C in mind specifically. Has anyone considered using something like a destroked LS7 in their build? Given the SL-C's light weight, it doesn't really need a mountain of torque down low. Would it be better to destroke the engine, increase...

    Dallas, TX guys

Saw your truck over at C&C in June with Cam's SL-C when I was out there visiting. So were you one of the ones lapping the Camaros over at the Motorsports Ranch earlier this summer? If I had an SL-C and lived in Dallas, I'd have to include a membership to that place in the cost of the build.

True, I also figure a $100k car is worth the $500 investment.

    SLC 001 Build

Yeah he did but it was just a feasibility test. He didn't actually use it on his build. If you wanna see more pics you should visit his sight: Mike Downs' GTM Build If you're gonna run your car on the track as you said, it sounds like the accumulator will help you out there as well. I...

    SLC 001 Build

Funny, I was looking at oiling systems this weekend and emailing with Bill Dailey asking about a couple of his new products. You're using the Accusump for hard cornering on a wet sump setup, correct? I was looking at accumulators for engine start-up purposes. I was looking at Peterson's new...

    SLC 001 Build

Mike Downs already took up the challenge to test the fitment of the magnacharger in the GTM. GTM with MagnaCharger - FFCars.com : Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum I imagine it would fit better in the SL-C without having the belt right next to your head. It'd be cheaper to get it...

    Electric Power Steering

Ok, so you're running the Flaming River (DC Electronics Motorsport EPAS). Has it been a reliable system and did you have to pay $6,000 for it? I was looking at the DC Corsa options and the GM NSK systems but they all seem to have problems and as you mentioned are not tunable. Seems like DC is...

Was blind but now I see

I was reading up on the Racelogic TC but the price got me wondering if it wouldn't just be worth upgrading to a Motec or Pectel ECU with integrated TC. With some of the turbo and ITB engine build possibilities I wondered if it would be a good idea. I've seen a barely used Pectel SQ6M for $4600...

    Superlitecars at P.R.I

The mono at the bottom left of this picture looks very BBS RE-ish. Any idea of the cost in comparison to BBS? I like it: Now they just need to make an affordable version of the BBS FI wheel. I like the BBS wheels but at $8k+ a set it's just not realistic. I'd be okay with 1/3 of that cost.
