    Gear Change Linkage

I forgot toask - any hints on where might be a good place to start looking for these linkages? Or maybe you have some dimensions and I could start fabricating.

What is the build and delivery time of your RF?

Oliver, you're going to have a heart attack! Relax and think happy thoughts! After all, your car won't even be late until, what end of April? I suggest watching Caddyshack - Chevy Chase has some valuable hints on relaxation.

    Gear Change Linkage

You're up early! My gearbox did not come with any of the linkages, so I'll have to start searching for them. Can I send you my selector shaft for modification?

    Gear Change Linkage

Page131 of the manual shows two horizontal rods and brackets (pictures 2.4.2 and 2.4.3) running fore and aft. There is also a rod running across the top of the gearbox. Does anyone know if these are included with the kit, or whether they were supposed to be with the gearbox? I can't seem to...

Autosport is reporting in the 29 December issue that Lola will build a new run of the T70 Mk3B for the Classic Endurance Series. They will have full FIA papers; supposed to be launced at the Autosport show (January, I think?).

    More fuel system questions

Reagrding teflon tape, I am not an expert, but I used Permatex "High Tack" Gasket Sealant. The item number on the 4 ounce can I have is 80062. You should be able to buy it at any parts store. From the can, and I quote, "Excellent for threaded fittings..." and "Will not be dissolved by...

    More fuel system questions

O'Reilly auto parts here in Texas now sells efi clamps, so you may be able to buy them at any decent parts store. I just put in pipe plugs where the carbon canister lines come off the fuel tank, if I remember correctly, that was what I was told to do.As regards the h.p. fuel filter, I placed...

Got a ride in a GT today!

A friend of mine just got an '05, and we went for a quick drive yesterday. It got better when he let me drive it. Absolutely lovely car, nice nice, very utilitarian when looking at the engine bay through the rear window. A policeman caused us to behave ourselves, but great car.

    Bead blasting

Why not blast it before you open the case? Stand it up on a table with the inut shaft pointing down through a hole, seal everything up, and then blast it. You can blast with glass, plastic media or even baking soda. Sounds like your friend had more of an issue with the work habits of the shop...

Re: RF52 Robert, I had to come up with something to keep the engine from flopping around! Many thanks for reprogramming the Motec, worked out perfectly, as did the instructions on setting the TPS. Your support continues to be outstanding. Heading to England for the holidays, as soon as I get...

Re: RF52 Dan, I am going to try Hershal's method, although my first shot is to use some mounts (pucks, really) from Speedway I saw the other night while reading their catalog. I'm too lazy to actually call McMaster and get the right urethane.

    Vinyl ester vs polyester resins

We are seeing the same thing here. What I have learned is that benzene, which is a feed-stock for both coatings and plastic (pvc, etc.) has gone up more than 58% in cost this year. Producers then decide which business is more profitable that day, and sell where they see fit. Raw materials...

    Vinyl ester vs polyester resins

Hey William, aren't you finding that all materials, including paint, are going through the roof on price! Surely the polyester is the same way.

Re: RF52 Dave, the engine panels are painted aluminum. I didn't like the look of black tube steel and aluminum panels, so I sanded and primed all the aluminum with epoxy then finished everything in a single pack moisture cured urethane. Looks like a boat. Hershal, yes I am having fun, and...

Re: RF52 Thanks Simon, yours too looks great. Gearbox is done, I just need to pick it up, up at Moorespeed in Austin. Then I need an alignment, then tags. I'll do the interior finish after all that. Oh, and I need the glass installed. Never seems to end, does it?

Re: RF52 and another. Needs adjusting, find out why the radiator fans never kicked on, small oil leak at the junction block for the oil pressure gages, install transmission, adjust header pipes... the list never gets any shorter! Engine souonds great. I am currently enjoying post orgasamic...

Re: RF52 well, it's been a long summer with work really cutting into fun, but today was a good day. Wheeled it out and lo and behold, the engine started the first try! Unbelieveable.

    Cam Synchro for Motec

Hey John, good to hear from you! How goes...firefighting, right? I did find a two-pin cap, comes off a 3.0 EFI Ford that does fit. It was recommended by RF, fits loads of Taurus' and Explorers. So I have a 5.0 synchro with a 3.0 cap. I will be test-firing the motor with a Motec racer, so...
