New SL-C from Atlanta saying hi!!

I have two on the front clam and two on the rear. If you look at cams blog you can see how he attached the front clam. I can’t for the life of me find the thread of who made their own front hinges. Possibly Mark? I think there was definitely one other too. My front springs are 4in. Can’t...

New SL-C from Atlanta saying hi!!

Take all my advice with a grain of salt. I believe the ram lifts for the back are a waste. You should have about 4-4.5im of clearance at the lowest points. That should be more than plenty for anything. My ram lifts aren’t the quickest for the front, can’t imagine how much they might struggle on...

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

These are the results after tearing the peel ply. Very rough but that’s expected, especially when you lay the pieces down in uneven layers. I expect to do this about 3-4 more times. I think the key for the second round will be putting more epoxy over the carbon pieces after laying them down...

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

So there are a couple of items I didn’t send to Allen, one being the side skirts. I wanted to try my hand at carbon forge, essentially cut up 1in carbon pieces. Here’s the process, basically clear epoxy over the unsplit skirt. Lay your carbon, it will be very messy and not flat. It might even...

Wow, now I’m super thankful for Florida. 3 pieces of paper and plates in two days. Try American collectors for insurance.

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

Well, just a few days until 1 year mark with the car. Hoping to have it back from allen here in awhile. In the mean time I’ve been practicing my tig welds. Really rough but slowly getting the hang of it. Having a better machine makes for improvement. Plans are to redo my exhaust, eventually I...

    Converting RHD SLC to LHD

Been awhile since an update. I’ve been gearing up to try and get a few more things done before shipping to Allan. I elected to go with the lotus taillights, finished up the wiring today. Same company to my knowledge, all owned by “fonzie”. Steve did you try doing it yourself? I just ordered mandarin orange to spray my SLC.

    SLC G96/01 Clutch

I can’t see how the clutch could be slipping with only 500miles unless whoever you bought the car from before had zero idea what they were doing. I would start by pulling the trans and taking a look at everything. Clean the flywheel, see if the clutch discs are worn down, etc. you can source a...

    Building a RCR GT40

I wonder if this is a Ford specific issue. Hope you get it soon man. I’m hoping this is my next car, so hopefully you can create a detailed log! How long do you expect until finish?

    Building a RCR GT40

Chet, as someone from an SLC, on retrospect, sanding out all the molding lines would have been best approach for me. The fiberglass dust get everywhere. Not sure how the gt40 is on the lines. Also, can you cancel the order from craft, that’s absolutely ridiculous from a professional builder...

    SLC door fitment

We’ll I’ve tried everything my patience will allow for. Trim some of the door, extended the heim, multiple positions on the nuts on the bolts. Nothing works. I decided this long ago that the car will go to Allan when he has time. I don’t have the time, room or patience for that last little bit...
