Thanks Randy. I did put a lot of time into both the front and back suspension alignment. Fran suggested the same to me before getting started on the body, he said to make sure suspension was right and then match the wheel wells to the tires to make it look right. I do suggest getting an...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

Still working on body fitment, things are starting to get close. I haven’t sanded any of the gaps yet, all the lines are looking pretty close. A little more tweaking to the nose and I think I’ll be able to fasten the spider to the chassis. I swapped the windshield wiper provision to the drivers...

Doug’s RCR Jaguar D Type Build.

Hi Doug, It looks like you have it sorted out, but wanted to offer another solution especially if you need a longer rod in the future. You can get the tube adaptors to fit chromoly tubing to make them any length you want...

Hi Trevor, I purchased some 10MM balls for the joints. I think there are a couple sizes of these ball joints to pick from, but I'm pretty sure 10MM is the most common. Link below...

I fabricated some brackets for the hinges on the rear clam shell. I was surprised at how different each side was. I also made some panels to cover the holes in the front wheel wells while I was at it. I'm working on dialing in the adjustments for the front clip and rear clam shell so that I...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

Hi Trevor, I'm not sure I understand the question. If you mean standard on these cars, no they re not. The normal mount for the nose is bobbins than allow the front to slide off. I like the look of the flip nose better and decided to go that route. Regards, Sean

Thanks Trevor. Its Crazy how scarce all the parts are getting. I haven’t looked for that block in a while, but summit has it listed for $1k more than I paid for mine. Unfortunately with no date available from ford. I see dart blocks are available at twice the price $9k

Thanks for the Feedback Neil, I plan to round the back and make a bit of an angle towards the hinge pivot side the next time I take it off. Regards, Sean

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

The hinges worked out very well. It is a bit overkill, but I decided to use pillow blocks for the hinge point. I needed to make where the bearings mount level to add strength. I did this by adding an aluminum plate with body filler under it. Then glasses over the whole mount. This made the front...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

Once the front was squared off, I started fabrication some hinge brackets for a flip nose. After a couple tries, I now have a hinge design that works well. I still need to stiffen up where it will mount to the fiberglass on the nose, once completed I will post some details of the brackets. I...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

I took some time away from the car the last month and a half, but now its time to get some things done. I am moving forward with body fitment now. I am starting at the nose of the car and working my way back. I found that the radiator mount was twisted a bit and needed to be sorted out before...

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

Hi Marian, I had issues with them rubbing before I did the wheel alignment. After the alignment the Passenger side rubbed on the fuel tank cover, that was an easy fix by adjusting the tie rods on each side of the steering rack to center it better. Hope this helps, Sean

    Sean's RCR GT40 build

Hi Vinny, I liked the way they sounded a lot. Even running them in the garage, they didn't sound too obnoxious. But they are loud. I will need to see how they sound under a load to make up my mind if they will be okay for most of the driving I will do. That being said, I do plan to keep them...
