    1969 1085A mkI for sale

Not sure if anyone has already posted this, apologies if you have. Sbaro 1085A for sale, a mere (!) £250k. 1969 Ford GT40 For Sale on Car And Classic UK Interesting that its titled a 1969 GT40, yet it stats it was built in 1990. Surely that makes it a 1990 car, but what do I know...

    GT40 Spinning @ Le Mans 2006

lucky, I think that is an understatement !! I understand Claude had an incident during the night. No idea what happened though as I was goin to head up to the pits Sunday afternoon and was told his car was not there, having gone out. I hope its nothing serious.

    Convert MKII into MKI ?

The MKIIa didn't have the same front clip as the MKI. For a start, the vent is missing from the centre in front of the screen (removed due to front mounted oil tank), and the insert is different. I believe, but could be wrong, that the SPF mkII chassis is modified in more ways than just...

    Le Mans Classic 2008 11-12-13th July 2008

very many thanks to all those people who had a hand in organising this trip. The classic is a special event, but to me it was made all the more enjoyable by those who put themselves out on behalf of the club. I could attempt to name names, but I'll undoubtedly miss some, so if you were...

427 Bigblock and ZF - which bellhousing ?

Thanks Mike, most helpful. I've gone with a standard crank but lightweight rods and pistons, so think I'll go middle of the road for the flywheel. Just need to get this bellhousing ordered now. Cheers, John.

427 Bigblock and ZF - which bellhousing ?

Thanks guys. Mark, I had seen this, which is partly why I was questioning the depth as this is 5", not the 4" that Kennedy supply... Steve, I assume your FE in the SPF is mounted on the original style mounts, right ? Any pictures of the drive shaft alignments at all ? Also, any ideas on...

    Le Mans Classic Clothing

Brian, possibly daft question, but is it possible to still order these shirts ? I'm not bothered (obviously !) about having it for the event, but just wondered if they would still be available. Sorry, not been on here that often recently, or attended any club meets (work getting in the way...

427 Bigblock and ZF - which bellhousing ?

Hi all, I need to get my flywheel & bellhousing sorted out asap, and have run into a bit of a problem. I'm using a side oiler mated to a flipped -2 ZF. The first question is, what depth of bellhousing do I need ? It seems they can be either 4", 4.25" (I think this is simply a thick...

Ammeter ? for Doc Watson (ANDY)

shunt aging ? I wouldn't even consider this to be a problem. If the shunt were a thin piece of wire then just maybe it may age harden, but the shunt shown is a plate, so unlikely to be a problem. What may change is the spring tension for need damping, but this can be adjusted if required -...

Whats the deal with age related plates?

Lee, your last but one post says you can't have an old plate. Yes you can, but in th first instance the car will (hopefully) be given a new reg, and then you transfer on to the car a classic plate. Fred, go to google.co.uk and do a search on 'show plates'. You will get pages of hits. I've...

Whats the deal with age related plates?

A Q plate used to stand for 'query', meaning unknown date of origin. If you have one of these you cannot put a personal plate on the car. If you have a new (e.g. 57) registration, then you can put any private plate you like on the car as long as, as Craig says, it doesn't make the car appear...

    MK.II fuel filter

Yes it is a Fram, and would have originally had a glas bowl. Glass bowls aren't allowed for historic racing now, so you can buy alloy replacement bowls to fit them. These are still available new. I'm not clear on whether the glass bowl is allowable for a UK MoT or not though.

    dino 246s

I recall there was a kit car copy of this in the 80s. I know half a dozen kits were built - no idea how many were sold and never finished though. Total Kit Car did an article on them. There used to be a black one up the road from me, which ran a fiat motor, so I assumed it was one of the...

    Rotary Switches

Lance, If you can find some, why not try the mirror switches used by the Porsche 993. Its pretty small and very robust. It has a small round pad used to adjust the mirrors, and a littrle rocker switch to select which one. I'm not sure what your trying to do with the door switch. I would...

    Original Specification Parts

James, i've seen your new thread with the pictures only. One comment - may I suggest you reposition the text such that it covers part of the subject item, else it is too easy for someone to crop off your text. I too am astounded the lengths some go to in order to try to potentially...

    Ouch.

To clarify, the RS6 driver did indeed walk away unscathed. I belong to RS246.com :: Dedicated to Audi S & RS Models, as does the owner of the car in the pictures. It was not a standard car, but MTM chipped & tuned (As most of the sites that have the pics on say). The car got away from him...
