    Hewland DGB wanted-possible partial trade??

I am looking at changing my track car over to a dog-shifted gearbox, preferably a Hewland DGB.I have a Porsche 930 running inverted with all Kennedy parts, adapter(to Chevy LS6)/clutch/starter that I wouldn't need after. The trans shifts great and is in great condition. It would be perfect for a...

    new build a Porsche LMP

Watch out or those tiny alts. used on the small diesel tractors,as the bearings and windings on the stators most likely handle high RPMs.The generator rebuild shop I use warned me of this and recommended that I use the slightly larger-cased alt. out of a Honda Civic. The unit will take the...

    Got a GTreproductions Chassis today......

You may want to look into your method of mounting the engine/transaxle.When I was installing a LS6/930 trans into my tube frame race car,I was told by a race team owner who had factory engineering contact that the LS series of engines did not "like" to be solid mounted, and suggested that I at...

VIR North Course March Memories 2008 Race

Ron,how far in advance did you have to reserve the garage/room?Was it really only $100 per night? Will it be that rate in the summer or was that an "off peak"(not in the middle of theseason)rate? That is quite a bargain for the convienience of not having to drive anywhere during the weekend and...

    Anyone with Porsche 956/962 experience?

Seeing as members of this forum own/work on or have worked on some exotic and rare race cars,I would like to post a question to anyone who has worked on Porsche 956 or 962 transmissions.I was told recently that 962 internals were of 930 decent and using the hubs, sliders and gears of the later...

    Adjusting 930 LSD power/overrun split.

I thought the ramp angle of the side pieces that ride on the cross pinion and apply the side force to the clutch packs determine the lock-up split?Therfore the ratio is fixed unless parts re changed.I may be wrong. Dave D.

    MDA Mk.II FE engined build

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought all clutch kits for the 930 box are of the "pull" type rather than the later G50 style "push" type release bearing .The only push release type I've seen are for the Tilton multi-disc setup. If that is the case then a hydrolic(sp?) release bearing cannot work...

    Southern Festival of Speed.

Hey Ross, Does that TVR belong to Jack Ondrak from Canada?I'm pretty sure that's the one he sent me a pic of last year.I know he is at the SFOS this year.If you see him,say hi from me-I own his old race car,an old Pontiac Fiero tube frame GTU car. Dave...

Phil, Where in New Jersey are you?I am located in the New Brunswick area.I am a fabrication nut and although I don't currently have a GT40,I race a few cars(Spec Miata) and am in the process of restoring an old IMSA Fiero(tube Chassis GTU car)repowered with an LS6/Porsche 930trans combo.I...
