They didn't stamp anything, but they did rivet on two plates with the assigned VIN and one sticker with the assigned VIN. I at least got to suggest where they should put them.

In Ohio, to get through the inspection, I had to show receipts for all the major components of the car (kit, transaxle, engine). I paid tax on everything included in those receipts that I hadn't already paid OH sales tax on.

I went out and checked my cables, and it seems like there is very little or no play in them. There is a quite a lot of play in the mechanism on the transaxle, so I'm not convinced new cables will make much of a difference. The throw on the shifter is almost 6 inches from 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6...

Well, that'd be great, but I don't really want to spend $2K+ for a shifter.

Don, Sorry, I'm not really following...did you completely replace the cables or just the cable ends? I looked at the link you posted and don't see anything about "zero lash".

When I got my engine from Jegs, they put it in my driveway, right in front of the garage door. I just had to move it into the garage.

Wow, that's a bummer. I'll admit I was a bit worried about hurting my new engine when I took mine to the track. Are you running an oil cooler? My oil got hot enough just running 15 minute track sessions that I had to quit early.
