I'm still not sure whether or not: a) The ZFQ and Smiths factory speedometer will work correctly (even if not calibrated) without adapters, and b) Will there will be an adapter on the back of my speedo, should I dig into the dash? Surely someone would know something about this combo.

Richard, This IS a new build. As Rick pointed out, I didn't have to modify the subframe, but I DID have to cut the bottom tab (ear) off the Quaife for clearance. It was tough to take a cutting wheel to a brand new casting. Such is life. I'll have to check the back of my speedo for the 90...

How is the SPF factory speedo connected to the ZFQ Gearbox, please?

Colin, I'd start thinking of the spark timing aspects. What's the timing at idle? How much timing advance is added as rpm increases. What's the total timing and when does it go "all in"?

Maybe the scattershield / spacer plate?

Tried to install the Roush 427SR tonight. There isn't enough clearance between the firewall and the alternator and water pump pulleys. We pulled out the engine and swapped the chassis mounts. No joy - ended up 1/2 inch closer to firewall than the former position. Thoughts? I was told to...

Update: One call to Olthoff and the problem is solved. As mentioned above, their motor mount kit uses a BB Chev insert, available from AutoZone. Along with the brackets supplied on the chassis and in the parts box, we should have the drivetrain installed very soon. Thanks again.
