    Hydraulic Release Bearing Problem

Mike, Yes, that is rust. I found it odd for a brand new part from Olthoff, but I certainly made sure the surfaces that make contact were clean. Regarding the rocking back and forth of the bearing: We thought that very odd as well. Do you have a photo of the flat plate you added? I want to...

    Hydraulic Release Bearing Problem

This is a good photo of the setup. We measured twice (at least), did all the calculations for clearance and throw, then added shims. I believe we ended up adding 8 or 9 shims. To answer Mike's question: There is a post you'll see in the photo. That came from Olthoff and is used (per...

    Hydraulic Release Bearing Problem

Markus, The pedal was pretty firm, good feedback and easy to use. After the leak, the pedal is understandably soft and won't pump up. I'll let you know what I find, probably next week. Tim

    Hydraulic Release Bearing Problem

So sorry to hear that, Mark! Yes, this is nothing that a few hours of wrenching won't reveal! I was just getting anxious to get to the driving part of ownership. ;)

    Hydraulic Release Bearing Problem

Drove the car to be inspected Friday. The car was running and feeling great - no issues or warnings. I was feeling like all the waiting for title and registration was about to end. After I found out the shop couldn't do the "ASE Certified Master Technician" work required by Texas, I hopped in...

    Parking Brake Adjustment

I'm not a regular user of it, as Texas is mostly flat where I live. However, I'm coming up on the "ASE Certified Inspection" part of my registration and I need it to work. Thanks!

    Parking Brake Adjustment

Can someone please confirm my theory that the parking brake is adjusted at the handle, inside the cockpit? I have the Wilwood 4-piston calipers installed by Hi Tech. Thanks.

    P2334 Breathes!

Dave, Thanks! Sure is music to my ears. Mike, I'll do a rough setup with a Fastrax gauge, just enough to drive it around the block. Then I'll take it to a proper shop.

    Quaife and SubFrame Interference

That's interesting insight, OliveR. When I spoke with the parts guy at Hillbank Motorsports (headquarters of Superformance), he hadn't even heard that the Quaife has an available pump. I found that a little odd, if in fact the pump was recommended for our use in these cars. Tim

    Quaife and SubFrame Interference

Oliver, I appreciate your advice on the pump and recall you mentioning that before. You're the only one I have read to say that. I don't plan to track the car. Are you saying there is some kind of design flaw and the transaxle really needs the pump? I haven't read or heard anything to...

    Quaife and SubFrame Interference

Mark, do you have a photograph of your suggestion? I AM concerned about the stiffness of the sub-frame after I remove the cross piece.
