    What chassis# on yellow MkI

From the little that is shown, it does look like 1060 which was burnt out many years ago. It was rebuilt using some of he original chassis. Regards, Graham.

    Bartman's GT40 Build

Those ducts are pretty much correct although the end of the duct that meets with the chassis would normally be cut off at an angle, the exception being if a heater plenum was fitted. Regards, Graham.

    Mark I Road Cars

This style was fitted to the two prototype MkIIIs, 1101 and 1102; when they were "productionised", they were fitted with the production MkIII bodywork which replaced the driving light and indicator with a combined unit. Regards, Graham.

    Original Ignition amp

That's from the GT40 wiring diagram and it does show the amplifier and the wiring loom. I might have sent you this, not sure. To my mind it's debatable whether it's worth using unless you have a spare amplifier! More on that another time. Regards, Graham.

    Original Ignition amp

No, not enough wires and points in the distributor. Regards, Graham.

Hi Peter, A photo of the ignition amplifier, I'd taken this for someone else a while ago.

    Original Ignition amp

I have the whole set up Peter. In addition to the amplifier and dual ballast resistor, you would also need the special distributor and the wiring loom. It's not all to hand so I can't photograph it for you but it is indeed "pointless" :) Regards, Graham.

    Modeling a GT40

Hi Chris, In that context, as a generalized statement, is it accurate to say the main three cars are the Mk I without the flares (ie Essex Wire), the Mk I with rear flares (Gulf), and the Mk II with the raised front arches ('66 Le Mans)? There were two different widths or flares for the Gulf...

New GT40 Book Due 2021 - Help Required
