    R&p For 016

Andy You are correct...but a lot of 016 users are/were just looking to get something we could comfortably drive on the highway...not necessarily in need of all new ratios (although that would be nice). Spending $ 300 on the tranny and then spending another $ 3000 just to get a decent...

    R&p For 016

Another option is to import U-code boxes from Europe, which have good ratios as is. You could add a Phantom grip for $ 300 (see Neal's posts), and be set. The problem is no one in UK/Europe it seems is interested in actually locating/boxing/shipping any of these to the US. A few have...

Why does the Shelby have to be such a pig?

Now with Chevy and Chrysler bringing out their retro ponycars, we should see some good old fashioned one-upmanship by the factories... shades of 1970 all over again...except a lot more expensive ! MikeD

    more motor questions

I'm working on the front dress of mine right now. I bought the FMS short pump and matching pulleys because it makes for a cheap/simple/compact package. The Sanden A/C brackets are universal mount type available anywhere, and the alternator brackets are simple home made. Knowing Fran, I'd...

    016 Slave Cylinder Adapter

Thanks again Andy. I never looked at Goodridge's catalog...man what a list ! If you can't find the fitting there...it doesn't exist! MikeD

    016 Slave Cylinder Adapter

Thanks guys. I don't want to drill/re-tap since that makes a mess and can't be sure I got all the old filings out without dismantling the cylinder. I'd much rather buy a $ 10 fitting...which I assume exists. Yeah Dave...finally back to work on the DRB....things will pick up pretty fast...

OK 016 people....what adapter are you using to convert the metric thread to AN line, and where did you get it? Thanks MikeD

    R&p For 016

The pinion gear on the 016 is integral with the shaft...making it significantly more difficult than a standard pinion gear. But as mentioned, the real culprit is quantity. We get spoiled by the low cost of some components. $ 175 gearsets, $ 200 billet distributors, $ 400 Holley carbs, $ 150...

    Richard Hammond

I saw a jet powered dragster fatally crash some years ago. And in fact they are banned in several US States. Novices have NO BUSINESS driving one (more like riding than driving !). Was Mr. Hammond qualified to run this car? MikeD

    GT40 Gauges for Sale

Charlie I'd bet Fran had these sets packaged custom for RCR. Might want to call him and ask. You could always order gages individually direct from Classic's website... but Fran may save you the trouble for the same price....worth a try. MikeD

    CAV or SPF?

Ian You are right. ERA is good company that makes an excellent product. They certainly deserve equal time. However I get the impression that they are not well represented in Europe. I don't think I've ever seen a thread from a European ERA owner, and assume most of ERAs annual production...

    15" Wheels over Corvette Brakes?

    AFC or 5N or 3U??

Cliff I recall Hershel's initial comments when he swapped in his 3U were favorable. Dropped the highway RPM down to a reasonable level, which was important given how many highway miles he racked up. MikeD

GT-40 or GTM or Ultima GTR

Chris I was told the GTM uses a GT40 windshield ! MikeD

GT-40 or GTM or Ultima GTR

I haven't checked in a while...but if budget is tight, I believe the GTM can still be built for significantly less than the GT40/Ultima. It also has the advantage of FFR's support team...and a very enthusiastic group of owner builders. However like the Ultima....it lacks history. The GT40...

    Twin Turbo's in a GT40 ?

The info I've seen indicates the Porsche 930 to have much higher capacity than either the G50 or ZF for less money. Sandy's (RCR) tranny looks way cool...will be interesting to see how well it holds up under racing. MikeD
