    I haven't checked Trigo in a while..they may offer 16 " bolt-ons. And didn't Bob Lacey (Vintage) just come out with 17 " BRM ? MikeD

    New.... R C R 917K..... New

Lynn I'm with you.....comparing the Lola coupe to the 917, I don't see much difference. I'd bet one could successfully fit a V8 if sufficiently talented. How well a Chevy/Ford powered 917 would be received is another question. Still....there are plenty of 911's running around with Chevy's...

Wes Next time you're in the Jacksonville area you might want to call on Mac McClendon. Mac's a bit of a recluse.....but his shop is Lola heavan. MikeD

    The armed conflict 1939-45

I watched the Battle of Britian again this week on my DVD... a really enjoyable movie (unless you were a fan of the Luftwaffe). It truly is incredible how history turned on the bravery of those few young lads, and the skill of their leaders. I often wonder what the world would be like if...

    Greetings and Questions

Wes Despite a lot of advertising over the years, Marauders didn't sell well and seldom come up for sale. You probably know they offered a VW based kit (ick) and a dedicated (V8) tube frame. There was a Marauder Lola tube frame for sale on E-bay last year....one of the few I've ever seen...

    Rcr 40-31

Re: Rcr40-31 I've successfully used Gorilla hair for door edges. As far as I can tell it's strong enough and easier to build up (especially in small areas) than layers of cloth. Of course you still need putty skim coat, but you need that with cloth as well. IMHO there are many ways/products...

    Bruce McLaren Movie

I wish them all the best....unfortunately motorsports stories don't seem to translate well on the big screen. They either pay a big name to star (Elvis, Tom Cruise, Sly Stallone) which immediately takes focus away from the story. Or the story is so poorly written that nobody cares (Bobby...

    Shelby "Supersnake" Cobra $ 5 m sale !

Actually it was $ 5.5 m...Barrett Jackson gave themselves a raise. Last year the buyer paid 8 % premium...this year it was 10 % !! It's good to be King .... MikeD

    Shelby "Supersnake" Cobra $ 5 m sale !

Fairly interesting??? After hearing Carroll specifically state on the BJ broadcast that the other Supercobra is positively destroyed, the emergence of the "resurrected"car will be worth the price of admission ! And yeah...$ 5 million seems a bit extreme....but as is the case with many of...

    Shelby "Supersnake" Cobra $ 5 m sale !

    tornado transaxle

Graham Suggest you call Andy Sheldon at Tornado for the latest...but last I saw, their standard adapters were for the Renault tranny....with the Audi 01E 6-speed as an (expensive) option. The Audi 016 5-speed is not as nice.....but a HECK of a lot cheaper. The Ford/016 adapter is sold by...

    HVLP Spray Gun

Kalun As mentioned...you might try a larger tip size. Other tips include increasing the pressure (10 psi be damned), and adding more thinner. My HVLP "splattered" too until I boosted the pressure a bit and added some thinner. Then went on nice. Also suggest experimenting with a test panel...

    Hemis

The Agapiou brothers raced J-10 with the Boss 429 in Can-Am. If someone wanted to modify a chassis to fit the Boss "9", I guess it could be done given enough time and money $$$$$. Would sure look cool ! Mike D

    NEWS FROM RBT--2 Jan 2007

Gentlemen Apparently I wasn't clear...my response was that Lloyd should hire a temp to handle his correspondence to keep customers (or potential customers) from becoming frustrated. A friendly voice for $ 10/hour to answer calls/faxes/letters/e-mail would pay off in the end. MikeD

    NEWS FROM RBT--2 Jan 2007

Lloyd may be a fine individual....but reading the above I confess I am not impressed. If you open a business, you should be prepared to answer customer correspondence in a timely and professional manner. Hire a temp if necessary. If RBT was doing a "booming" business before the GT40...

    1036

Jim I haven't heard any other "buried" car stories...but I have seen a number of musclecars that magically morphed overnight from a 6 cylinder or small block into a Hemi/LS-6/Z28/etc etc etc. It used to be easy to spot phonies....but with the value of these cars sky rocketing, the...

    DRB # 49

Well the T-3 is finally done ( for sale !), so I can get back to work on the DRB. It's also for sale (two daughters in college), but realistically I don't expect to sell it until it's at least driveable. Car buyers tend either to want projects they can invest their own sweat equity in...or...

    1200 HP Ford GT

Yeah I know this really belongs in the Ford GT section...but not everyone reads that area. This months issue (Feb 2007) of Mustangs and Fast Fords has a huge article on Joe Cermin's twin turbo GT...daily driver. UNREAL ! MikeD
