Thanks for the reply. I was looking at units with the capability of backdrive, but like you said it makes for more "switchology". I'm hoping avoid the need for a release pin and a way to re-set it in event of electrical issues. Not trying to takeover the thread, but has anyone successfully...
Engine’s out of a MiG if I recall my conversation with Fran about almost exactly year ago when I visited the factory. So its a VK-1 or a variant. Looks really similar to the early British engines as well.
Did you see a white SLC being worked on? Mine’s gotta be in there somewhere, lol.
Not a big fan of the torched color, it just looks artificial and overdone...like cheap ricer exhaust tips. As-is or cleanup and let the heat do the coloring for you. Beautiful work on that system, though.
Ken, I couldn't find anywhere that stated fender vents are illegal, but maybe I wasn't using the right search terms. Fender vent, gill slot, louvers... Have you any experience that indicates they might be?
Has anyone tried putting in a backed mesh guard? A heavy but wide stainless mesh like hardware cloth supporting a finer mesh in the wheel well liner to block road debris from hitting the vent is something I planned on.
If it’s Del’s, he said it went initially to SeanH in February this year. I don’t know if it left his possession before hitting eBay 9 months later. Be curious what it goes for, they seem to be solidly at or above the $150k mark these days for a decently built street car.
Hector, I saw your mod for the Jag headlights. Looks good. Think I'm gonna try just modding the current SLC headlights and see how that works. If I F it up, I may do something like you and others done and retrofit some other car's lights.
Thank you!
Don’t have the car yet to break them.
Looking to figure out a different configuration using 60s, and needed to know if they were already 60s which would have nixed the idea.
Also check for DOT approved if that's something you think might be checked in an inspection if you have those. Basically a center buckle pushbutton that says "push" so that first responders know how to unbuckle the belt.
