Yeah, that’s the problem. If it’s a custom motor, how do you get a “native” ECU? It’d be easy to get a used ECU out of say a pickup truck and tune it to the engine, but I have no idea about the SN# business. My motor isn’t E-rod, just a regular GMPerfomance crate engine.

I’m shopping around for an ECU for an LS and I’m going to be emissions/OBD2 compliant. I can’t seem to figure out the whole controller thing. There’s the one that comes from GM specific to my crate motor, but it’s non-emissions compliant, and apparently they won’t sell their ECUs separately...

Has anyone actually reported a crack, unusual directional wear, or bent hardware? I figured on just adding a set…but if it can be avoided it’ll be nice to keep the look clean.

Nice. Went the same route. Got the motor and transx sorted, took a tour and got to check out the parts (esp seat sizes!) and that helped decide the options to get. Good luck, hope to see your build thread soon.

Thanks for the deeper explanation, Scott. I think what my plans are for the outlet will likely reduce downforce in favor of redirecting the hot air to the sides. In your exploration of aerodynamics did lift over the car become a factor?

Thanks, Joel, I’ve seen that analysis and will be incorporating the formula for entry/exit sizes as much as I can. I do note that it is mentioned that moving the outlet is at the cost of downforce, not sure I understand why other than relocating a source of high pressure over the nose, but...
