    No ERA build logs?

That is the ERA stainless tub. Most folks have ERA powdercoat the tub and then have them build it to a certain point (IE: roller or turnkey). Relatively few are built up from the basic kit. Jim

    Frozen Block - Any tips?

Ron: A couple of years back the sb Ford (Boss Block) froze in my ERA289FIA and cracked the rear of the water jacket over the crank. We epoxied the broken part back into the block and ran it that way for a year before I pulled the motor and replaced the block. My impression is that the block...

    MK1V production line

They will use T44 gearboxes. They have duplicated all of the cast parts including uprights, wheels, rack and pinion, body hinges, etc. Truly a "recreation". Fran Kress's car (his was the semi complete car shown at Road America last July) should be completed within the next month or so...

    ERA at limerock labor day

Lloyd: A couple of thoughts: 1. Get your ticket in advance, last year that helped insure that you had infield parking. 2. Arrive early. 3. Drive the GT40 (and look and act like you belong). If all else fails call me on my cell (e-mail me for #) and we'll come and get you... Jim

    ERA at limerock labor day

Lloyd: My source of tickets is LRP. If you order them in advance there is a price "break". Years ago I worked to try and get group discounts, but frankly, it wasn't worth the effort; i.e.; laying out the money and trying to collect from folks who might or might not show up. Discounted...

    ERA at limerock labor day

Just got back from dragging ERAGT2077 out to Road America and now trying to get it together to get out to the SAAC Convention 8/6-8th. Lime Rock is always on the schedule. We will be there for the entire weekend, Friday through Monday afternoon. As in the past, we have an RV space near the...

Toni: Ah, another ERAGT victim. Welcome to the insanity. Feel free to e-mail with any questions [email protected]. My ERAGT2077 is up at the shop for a few touches before heading out to Road America next week for the Vintage Races there. Do put the vintage races, Labor Day weekend...

Will a a trailing link kill you?

In the crash test of the orignal GT40 MKII most of the spray of "fuel" (actually a non flamable liquid for the test) was due to the "quick fill" caps failing and the force of the liquid shifting forward in the tanks due to the impact. That's why its a good idea to use "twist off" fill caps...

Mk IV J-3 Race and Ownership History?

J-3 is currently owned by Nick Soprano of Motor Classic here in White Plains, New York. It had substantial test miles but never raced. While it evolved into essentially the MKIV version, there are differences between it and J-4 which won Sebring and J-5 through J-8 which raced at LeMans (and...

MKIV J11 J12 where are they?

After the MKIV program cam to an end Ford had four "J" car chassis left. J-9 was built as a Can Am "prototype" but never raced. J-10 was finished as a Can Am car by the Agapou brothers and raced. J-11 and J-12 were finished much later. All four chassis were part of the run of 12 chassis...

    MkIV - J10

This response from one of the "elder" owners... (the one with the magnesium wheel fetish); "From time to time we get inquiries concerning the potential sale of J-10. While it would be imprudent not to consider them, our intention is to finish the restoration of the car as a coupe/GT (...

Belhousing for SB289 and ZF transaxle

You can also try Safir Spares. Thier Bellhousing is as used on the JW continuation cars (and is slightly different than the original GT40 setup). I've installed their Bellhousing/clutch setup on my ERA. The Bellhousing has the lower locating "ears" and uses a twin disc clutch. Contact Bob...
