    Hello all from Connecticut

You are so close to ERA, why don't you give Peter a call at 860-224-0253 and take some time to go up and see what they are doing. Their car may not be what you want, but you need to start educating yourself as to what is out there. Jose Velez amongst a number of other ERA owners has his car...

    Recent ERA builds

The new 302 Boss block from Ford has four bolt mains on the middle three mains and it's cheaper than the Dart block by at least $500.00. But, I'm into it and there is no turning back... Jim

    Recent ERA builds

fearsom: Here is a brief list of where I am with respect to ERA options: 1075 flares 1075 exterior door handles (completed by body shop) 1075 bar in nose roll bar AC/heater Right hand drive powder coated chassis ceramic coated uprights and suspension, etc. Smith gauges seats set...

    Recent ERA builds

fearsom: I'm in the final stages of my second ERAGT build and would be more than happy to try and "consult" with you. The two biggest decisions that you need to make are paint and engine. Everything else is pretty straightforward, provided you don't veer away from ERA's basic engineering...

    427 in a Mk1

Save the 427 for something else. Use a bored and stroked W351. It will be less expensive, make more power and use newer technology. A potential purchaser of your GTMkI (and that day will come sooner or later) will most likely not see the "strange" combination as a plus. that's not to say...

Garage - What features would you select?

Ron: I have a 30'x36' garage with a 16' wide rollup door in one end offset with a passage door alongside. The eaves are 12" high and at the moment I have one lift. Along the other side I built a mezzanine for storage with a bathroom and shower in one corner (my wonderfully tolerant spouse...

    NYS registration ?

ERIC: Clinton Corners has some lovely country back roads. The run up 82 to Pine Plains and over to Millerton, on to Lakeville, then south to Sharon, back over to Amenia and then on over to Clinton Corners is one of my favorite "around the block" drives. Just about perfect for a two...

how many GT40's in the world

My ERA GT is #2077 and is now approx. two years old. I would think that they are now at approx. 90 cars delivered or in process. Jim

    Budget

From my experience a GT40, from whatever source, has some inherent GT40 limitations that make it a bit of a "bear" as an "everyday driver." Issues with ingress and egress, limited visibility out the back, weather sealing, storage, etc. etc. all make them a bit hard to deal with. My view is...

    MkII original car detail

You should also note that the cowl in fron to the windshield has a slight hump. This (I surmise) to clear the dry sump tank which was in the front on the 66 MKII "A" The small block cars cowl was essentially flat. Jim

car on trailer cover or not

Any cover on a car on an open car trailer will "beat" the paint and leave marks. Something inevitably works loss and flaps. When I took my first ERA to a show in North Carolina twenty years ago, I taped down the edges of the tonneau cover. It still beat the paint and it rained all the way...

    Shop Visit

Jim: Now that you have been the subject of an article in Autoweek, you'll need crowd control. For those who haven't been to jim's shop, it's a wondeful experience and he is a most congenial host. Jim

RCR Visit - Searching for a new GT40

Jose: The only thing you're really concerned about is getting a bad piece of steak at dinner. J PS: These cars are essentially four wheel motorcycles. ...with all the protection that a motorcycle affords its rider.
