    Roaring Forties Information, March 2006

Regardless of what we may individually feel about the relative merits of a given kit car manufacturer, I know we can all agree that the failure of ony one of them and the potntial loss of deposits negatively impacts the public perception of the entire industry. I would hope that the company...

Jose Your car at Hartford Car show

Lloyd: The crew at ERA is focused on the GTSpyder at the moment, so I told Peter to just shove my parts under my car. When the pile gets big enough, I'll drag it all home. As to some of the details on the GT, I was trying to incorporate a few more of the 1075 details... Jim

Jose Your car at Hartford Car show

Jose: Spring is just around the corner here in the NE. What is your schedule? Do we have an April event? Jim PS: At the rate the Faux Racing Mustang is going (much less the GT) Mafia and I will once again be your Donkeys.

lloyd; The only thing that needs Jose's permission is... where to go for a decent steak. Otherwise his "people" handle everything. Jim

Jose: March... Lime Rock? In the Berkshires? Make sure you take snow tires. Jim PS: ...and deactivate four cylinders, and cork up the remainder so that the car will pass the db limits

    ERA GT not mentioned much

Folks: It's interesting how a thread entitled "ERA GT not mentioned much" has turned into a "discussion" of the relative merits of different brands of GT replicas. As some have observed, it's a bit like politics or religion, with folks saying; "I'm of the same opinion still!", repeated, ever...

Ford that Beat Ferrari - new edition!

Received my copy(s) from Walmart today. Everything came to a stop so that I could flip through it. There appear to be quite a few new pictures. My evening is now planned... Jim

    Porsche GT3 vs GT40

Jose: You're problem is that you own the car. Now if you were to drive it as though you had stolen it, you'd be much faster. As a mutual (nameless) friend observes; "There are no Puerto Rican F1 drivers." Jim PS: ...and is any of this relevant at all?

    P4 in Red

Jim: Step by step. Liitle by little we're getting there as time and our checkbooks allow. Our chief "restorer" only has after hours time to work on it. Our goal is to have it ready for the Shelby Convention at VIR. the end of June. Motor has been gone through and run in. There is nothing...

    Wing-nuts/knock offs

Folks: Does anyone know a source for the wingnuts/knockoffs as used on the late Gulf cars ie: small triangle "eared" fronts and long rears? Thanks. Jim

ERA or hold out for Superformance?

Folks: I'm not certain what the basis for the comment "In fact there are space frame cars which outperform most any ERA." is. I have yet to see any "tube frame" GT that I would trade in my ERA for! Having owned one ERAGT and with another on the way, I'm not changing horses now. ERA has a 25...

it is possible to drive the gt40 in boots?

Even Nancy Sinatra would have trouble trouble driving a GT40 in her boots that were "made for walking." Unless I have very narrow soled shoes on, I just take my shoes off and drive barefoot. J

    J-CAR

Phil: I would suggest that you need to be very careful and far more circumspect about your speculative comments. You are clearly suggesting that Charlie and Kerry Agapiou have commented fraud, a crime, and if not true, is libelous and could be subject to an action for damages. As an aside...

    Le Mans Classic 2004

Re: J-11 PRESENTED FALSE ? J What? Perhaps a great deal of the problem of determining "provenance" would be alleviated if folks were just willing to accurately describe and acknowledge what they have. There should be little argument that over time, if these cars are used at all, they...
