    S2's Build Thread

I don’t know what Bill thinks about hard 90 fittings, but it is the same flow as the pressure side and there the smallest line is -10. If you look down in the tank with engine running, it’s not that much oil flowing into the tank. I would be more concerned with a smaller more restrictive...

Scott, It´s a bit tight but it works. All hoses and fittings according to Bill D. Did you send that wiper mount?

Scott, Speaking of drain, I was recently changing the oil in the engine. Having filled my 8qt tank with 8qt (I’m sure) I only got 6qt out. As it turns out the scavange filter and the -16 hoses together with thermostat, oil cooler and 2:nd oil filter contains at least 2qt. So next time I take...

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting

Howard, I haven’t got my system yet to take a picture, but here is a link. The fire loop is a pressurized thin tube that melts at 170C and gives a signal to whatever you want, a light or automatic trigger of the system. I choose a light because I didn’t want any nuisance triggering, emptying...

    Fire Extinguisher Mounting

I’ve done some research when it comes to extinguisher systems. While most recommend Dupont FE36 or Novec 1230 for the cockpit and closed areas, they say a water based system is best for engine compartment since it’s not enclosed. I just ordered a water based system from Fogmaker with a...

Time for seat belts. Over here building a car by yourself you have to use 3-point belts and if that doesn´t work you can use 2-point. I´m NOT allowed to use 4,5 or 6-point belts. Crazy I know, but that how it is. So, 3-point it is. It was very tight for the connector/reciever so I modified the...

Hi Joel, I know they are one piece, I got them with my car. It just lookes like Allan made some changes to them in Del’s picture. I can see he has grinded off a bit just where the grey meets the black and it is just at that position the panel use to rub on the door opening/spider. I can’t...

Del, I can see in your pictures that you have the inner door panels. Are they split apart, the lower grey and the upper black or does it just look like that in the pics? There is some interference to the body with door closed just where it shifts color grey/black.

    Stephan's SLC Build Log

I see, haven’t really checked everything the Dominator can do, it’s a superb ECU, maybe a little overkill for my lightly hotted LS3. The HP would have been sufficient. Got hold of the TT vents on ebay.de, thanks. Johan

That intake lookes awesome. I have always wondered how you measure total air flow in those. Either if it’s MAF or Speed density, do you measure one stack and program the ECU to multiply by 8 ? Your build is as usual top notch, very proffesional.

I think you had the right type of foam, wrong type glue. Yes, I found the wire on eBay and I could get it here also, but when I’m exited it has to happen right now, no time to wait.

If I would do it all over again I will use two wooden templates, one on each side to rest the hot wire on while cutting. It will be a whole lot easier to hold the hot wire stable.

A new center console, I started with 3 sheets of styroform and a wooden template in between glued together. Then tried to fabricate a hot wire cutter. I tried all sorts of wire, all burnt. then a friend told me I have to use a kanthalwire (Nicrome) found in all sorts of electrical equipment. so I...

    Scandinavian SL-C build

Some body mods. I covered the front air outlet behind the wheels. Started with 5mm foam then three sheets of 450gr csm and then some bondo. Also, you can clearly see it`s two guys that`s made the spider. Left side is very good, on the right the fiberglassing is not, a lot of air pockets all over.
