I've fitted throttle cable return springs both on the carb & at the pedal. Although this works well, I'm not convinced I have the best setup. I've got a few ideas (double progressive springs at both ends of the cable) but I would like to know what others have done to obtain that 'slam return'.

Simon, I also have done something similar to what Paul & Malcolm describe, you are more than welcome to come over & take a look. This mod really does make access much easier & should be done as a matter of course if you are building from scratch.

I think early Mini bonnet latches were fitted to GTD40's so I assume that the pull cable & 'T' bar were from the same donor vehicle.
