    Vintage guitars

I think the prices are OK, might be a bit high but OK. This question is totally dependant on sound! The Strat and Les Paul have totally different sound and it's a personal thing. As far as weight there is no way a Strat is as heavy as a Les Paul (one of the reasons for the difference in sound) I...

Group Purchase of GT40 Drawings for Public Use

I would be happy with a set of chassis drawings, the rest could be reverse engineered easy enough. Are the flat patterns and assembly drawings included in the 250 sheets you are looking at buying? Steve26

    front suspension?

Shawn, If you are going to scratch build the chassis why not build the front suspension as well, it's the easy part. I used the same rack you are using with Mustang 2" drop spindles and it works great.

    GT 40 chassis number X1, X2 Xgt2 and J2

I think the J cars were a Shelby development while the XGT cars were produced by Alan Mann. The first "J" car might have been called the X-1 I'm not sure. The Alan Mann cars were GT40 MKII's Steve

How do you define a kit car?

[suppose you went to Ford and bought all the parts to make a 1965 Mustang and assembled them, what would you have?] Jim, If you did this your car would be registered as an "Assembled" 65 Mustang. When I had my car inspected the inspector explained that if a person bought or made parts of the...

    Audi 016

Hi Jdisinger, I have the same transaxle as Cliff and am also in the Seattle area. I just took it out to put in a 930 box so I have everything you would need to put it in a GT from the engine block back. I want $400.00 for the transaxle (what I paid for mine). I had it in my car for 500+ miles...

How do you define a kit car?

I think if you buy the parts and "assemble" those parts into a car/plane or whatever it is a kit... If you manufacture the chassis/suspension and most or all the brackets and parts this is a "scratch built" car/plane whatever. I would call my car a scratch built GT40 replica but I would call my...

    Anyone have a F5000 car?

:thumbsup:Hi Tom, Can I get in on that deal at Pacific Raceways? I would think Neil would want to play as well. I think we could have five or six GT40's there at one time? Steve

lsd or not! and if yes...

I'm currently replacing an Audi 016 5N box with a 1987 930 box. You will have a VERY hard time finding a 1976~1977 "short" 930 for less than $5000.00 but you can shorten the later 930 box 30mm to make it a "short" box. I have just done this to my 1987 box and it was a very easy straight forward...

    Anyone have a F5000 car?

Hi Cliff, Why don't you run an SL-C or an Ultima? These will fit the bill of being fast enough to scare you but inexpensive enough to actually run it hard. Just my $.02 It would be very sad to ruin any historic irreplaceable race car just playing around. Steve

    Test fit?

Hi John, I would be happy to let you sit in mine, I can't take you for a drive right now because I'm changing transaxles. My car is a scratch build but the dimensions should be very close to most everything out there. I live about 10 minutes from Economan so if we can set it up you could sit in...

    kva mk3 build

:thumbsup:Beautiful car James! I think this is the best looking MKIII I have ever seen. Great job, glad it didn't just rust away in a barn somewhere but will now be loved and enjoyed by everyone that sees it. Congratulations. Steve26
