Thanks for the reply. On other projects I have built (not clutches), the outer race of the bearing itself was secured with loctite, to prevent it from spinning in its mount.

One thing that just occurred to me: The crate engine came via RCR with the pilot bearing already installed. I didn't check to see whether or not it was installed with loctite or if it is even required? Does anyone know if the pilot bearings need to be installed with loctite?

Attached are some pictures of my LS7/Graziano as shipped from RCR. It was hard mounted on the frame (no rubber bushings). Note the spacers in the first two pictures.

It looks like the 6mm x1.0x75mm bolts for mounting the clutch to the flywheel are going to be about 4 mm too long; the unthreaded shank of the bolt protrudes beyond the end of the clutch housing (when the starter ring gear is in place). Mahlon, Thanks for the comments on the 911 alignment tool. As the tools are cheap and I've never done this before, I'm hoping to find one that is an exact fit, but if there isn't one out there, the 911 tool sounds like it could be a good fallback.

I'm a little worried about the "23 splines" reference on that tool. I double checked and still count 25 splines on the clutch plates and on the shaft of the Graziano. Has anyone successfully used this one or found an alternative that they know works?

I think the design and parts used depend on what pedal assembly you have. Mine came with the Tilton pedals and looks like the attached. In the first picture, the small plate stamped "SLC" is the one used - the other plate is not used (must be for a different pedal assembly?)

I believe both of the pressure relief valves should be the same (or at least, mine were). Here's a picture of what mine looks like. I cut the tab off the "T".

Does anyone have the size for the flywheel to engine mounting bolts? How about a part no. or specs or source for the clutch alignment tool? I checked with my usual local shops (autozone, O'reilly's) and noone has a reference for a 2011 audi R8 clutch alignment tool.
