    Kurtiss' GT-R

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I couldn't have built it without the help and support of the amazingly talented members of this forum. The images above in post #342 were taken on a cloudy day. The sunshine really brings out the depth of the color.

    Kurtiss' GT-R

I'm already thinking about what I should build next. I'll be at the SEMA show for four days supporting the California Four Wheel Drive Association but I'll have lots of time to checkout the vendors and shop tools. Should I build a Factory Five Daytona, Ultima RS, Superlite SLC, Valarra...

    Kurtiss' GT-R

Interior real estate is sparse be there is a lot more room compared to the GT40. Not sure about the SLC.

Sneak peek. After 5 years she's almost done - only a few little tidbits left. The interior is done except for a panel to cover the electronics. I also need to install the door windows, make a few panel adjustments and clean and wax. I'll be taking it to Lake Havasu City for the "Run To The...

    Kurtiss' GT-R

While waiting for the dash to be upholstered, I completed the rear end. Installed the wheel wells, bobtail, Gurney flap, clamshell, and wing. My wife did a great job making the induction system covers. Before I can complete the front end, I need to vacuum, leak check and charge the AC system.

There are a few things I must do before final assembly like front wheel alignment. In post #256 I modified the front suspension to remove the 1-1/2” wheel spacer but neglected to check the alignment. I used a Quick Trick alignment tool, followed their directions, and took my time. I used the SLC...

Yes, I'm getting close... Finished assembling the doors except for the red trim (install after the seats are in) and the windows. The overhead piece and switch panel are in including the wiring to the rear-view mirror lighting. Second Skin soundproofing has been applied to the floor and sides...

    Electrical issue SPF GT40

Sounds like a loose connection. Check all battery cable connections from the battery to the starter.

Gentleman, please don’t hijack my thread. Rob, I agree with Brain, there’s a chance of backfeeding 12V to the Mastercell – not good. You could use a double-pole brake light switch or Infinity Box may be able to reprogram the Mastercell for a third brake light. Since my wiring was 90% complete, I...

Hi Rob, Sorry of the slow response. You're right, it's difficult to find. This is needed to prevent a left or right turn signals from flashing the Center High Mounted Tail Light (CHMTL). You only want it to illuminate when the brake is applied. I found the converter diode on Amazon when...

Thanks Jim! I do plan to try and license it in CA under SB100 as a special construction (1966 emission rules) requiring only a PCV valve. If that doesn't work, I'll move to AZ. :)

    Kurtiss' GT-R

Back to Work! I’ve have to be extra, extra careful around the extraordinary paint job. I removed the front clip, hood, rear bobtail and clamshell and installed the lights, electrical harness, etc.. Now the items are temporarily stored in the car trailer until ready for final install. To the...

It's back home! Ken's Custom Auto Body in Yuba City did a fantastic job with paint – true show quality. House of Kolor Brandywine is such a deep red and the Nissan Aspen White Pearl stripes really pop. You have to see it to appreciate how deep and rich the color. Several more months of work...

    Kurtiss' GT-R

Update Kens Custom Auto Body has done an amazing job preparing the body for paint and this week the candy red pearl paint was applied. The red - deep and rich, looks great. Soon the white stripes and black-out paint will be applied. And now it's red -

    Kurtiss' GT-R

It’s been awhile since I posted. My car is still at the paint shop and may be there for another two months to complete the show quality mods and paint. After paint, I’ll bring it home and reinstall the wiring, lights, grills, windows, etc. Should look like the photo except I’m going to leave the...
