Which oil pan in a RCR40 with 351/427w

I just pulled a 351W with an Armando pan. I've had at least 3-4 of his pans, always top notch, tell him how deep and he builds it. I have a 7.5" deep sump Armando on it that I am going to sell, only reason I had him build a 6.5" deep piece. If interested pm me with email address and I can...

    Dean's GT-R build thread

Re the black stuff removal. I've had good success using a wire wheel on a bench grinder, or on an air powered tool when removing stuff that defies the laws of garage mechanics. Gasket material, tar, varnish. Something like that looks like a 15' job. Doesn't harm the aluminum either. Just...

    Dean's GT-R build thread

Here's a thought Dean. You really don't need to split the exhaust after the merge, usually done to run two exhaust pipes to the exit. I had a car with the 180* headers that ran into a merge into a single exhaust muffler with single exit. I don't know if it was the 180* or merge but it was...

Rigi Grip for stainless coolant tubing

Too small for coolant, but if you could find something larger here would be your heat transfer. https://www.lefthanderchassis.com/v2a/14_viewproduct_group.asp?idgroup=2511674

    Dean's GT-R build thread

Roger that. Dean, something I'd thought of earlier, since your gel coat and everything looks so good, have you considered using stick on material? A local guy has a machine and prints his own stuff, made blue flames for the hulls on his catamaran to match his sails. Looks good. Don't...

Op, there you go. How about the lowest point? Maybe something to put a drain line on? After having to take apart seemingly everyones "stuff", I find it beneficial to consider how it is going to come apart. Makes life so much easier...

I don't see it, and maybe there is one, an air bleed on the outlet side of the radiator?

    Gel coat shine question

If it is similar to a boat finish, as with cars we like to make our boats fast. I use a polish like Mclube Hullkote. It is citrus based, not petroleum, and uses ptfe. Stuff is nothing but slick, and fast! Wally sells cheaper stuff with ptfe in the boating dept. which is similar. Easy to...

Wanted: Used/New Accel DFI Gen VII ECU

I have a complete Gen VII setup I would sell for the 351w block with data loggers, wouldn't want to split it up though, might be an alternative if you can't find the ECU.

    LS376-480 start problem

Can't help with the start problem, but be careful with the ether, you can do a lot of damage real quick. You can use an oil can and squirt gasoline into the intake, that should fire it.

    driveshaft angle question

The flywheel should be 13" dia., so you can place the engine so the crankshaft is 6.5" above the bottom of the chassis, use an appropriate oil pan and remain above the bottom of the frame if you cut off the bottom portion of the bell housing that would be below it, being aluminum is much easier...
