SPF GT40 MKII Ken Miles Livery Build

I cant understand why people are obsessed with having a 427, its reputation precedes it and time done it no favours with corrosion . People then boring it further have only increased its self demolition. Why not simply find a 390 or even earlier 332/352 versions and apply a bit of recent...

SPF GT40 MKII Ken Miles Livery Build

It could also be a Colloti or a ZF with 5th disconnected. It does not sound like an FE to me and not many if any MK1's were retro fitted with an FE and/or used IDA's.

SPF GT40 MKII Ken Miles Livery Build

Have you heard of & checked out 'Bear Block Motors' you will be in FE Heaven. Find yourself an old school 'Mechanic' like me, early/mid 70's who used to wrench on them back in the day, that 'ol dude' is going to need to know how to build a rev kit and source a steel crank with 3.75" stroke like...

Kar-Kraft assets purchased to yield more Mk IV

I remember Fran saying ( last century ) that Mike Teske had or might have had rights to the T44, but then Ive read in other places that Weissman actually did a lot of the design work, Ive since seen photos in HM's shop of the MK2 that ended up here in NZ for a while prior to being on sold to...

    T-44 transaxle

We thrashed all this out a few years ago with contributions from others that were on the verge of building other transaxles, De Lynn was further down the track but ran into component supply problems when the gear vendor was bought up by another company . IAnother Kiwi built one or two that...

    T-44 transaxle

Knowing the parts reqd to build a T44 I have difficulty understanding why it should cost $70k USD. Perhaps for those building 100% copies, but the layout would sugest there is a lot of 'development' costs being incurred. For instance a top loader is around $2700, QC gears $200 Locker $1500. R&P...

    Cam help

Have the lifter bore's been machined for oiling directly at the cam lobe at the point just before the lobe makes contact with the follower. If you look up 'Louis' tool in Comp Cam's website the section on accesories etc. That should give you the reiabilty you need. While I dont build a lot these...

    Classic HorsePower Scratch GT40

I saw the photo of the FE on pallet & then the photo of the Coupe it came out of, then had to read whole thread to work out if the 40 was going to be FE powered.... Still with all the scratch build parts I'll keep watching..... close but no cigar.

    Alternative Energy Sources discussion

Yes, the writer of the info given to me mentioned that FORD effort as well as BMW having a running car as well and IMPCO were supposed to be developing a 'gas' carb. The volume in the convertor plans given to me was only around 4 lires, when I think of the LPG conversions that were common here...

    Alternative Energy Sources discussion

In a word'YES', Info I was given by a third party-probably in the hope I would build it- originated from the USA and a guy who said he was in a rock group that toured cost to coast in a 60's Caddy and details the work & process's taken to make it all work.I'd tossed it all in a filing cabinet...

    What's engine does this GT40 have ?

MK1, Small Block, could be any Cubic inch in todays world, 5 speed shifter gate therfore ZF,, MK2 T44 would only have 4.

    Pinion gear

Ford Small blocks require the sandwich plate between engine & bell housing to supply the required location of the starter, If you dont have that the starter will move out of mesh and destry itself in a short time.

Interest to read experience in fitting auto box to GT40

No, similar but clean sheet of paper, utilise recent R&P like Ford 8.8'', wasnt thinking before, auto trans does NOT need to be flipped and as the helical gear forces are all dealt with in the trans shafts etc, possibly easier to build than the manual. After all Graeme Beck picked my brain &...

Interest to read experience in fitting auto box to GT40

With all my research for the T44 I have had the two auto versions in the back of my mind. Flipping a 2 spd powerglide id fairly simple and running it sans converter is/was often done with the speedway guys, just bit of outside the box thinging reqd in regard to oil flow. Probably plenty of un...
