Another thought... I know next to nothing about them, but PFITZNER in Australia have a dog box 6 speed transaxle that appears to use some WINTERS components... price is getting up there though. Not even sure it would fit in the GT40 space.

Sorry folks, I thought I had deleted this... its an article that showed how the imbalance is divided between Damper & Flywheel. EG the 50 oz factor has 34 oz in the damper & 16 oz in the flywheel. The above link does not work, my fault.

Well it is an 'English' wheel,:oops: had a chuckle at that! In an old book I have on the subject there is cartoon of a guy's tie going thru the wheel with the inevitable result of face contact with the upper wheel .

The bolt circle dia @ the crank is ~ 3" or so, whereas the circle dia @ torque converter is approx 9 or 10". That looks like the ZFQ that I used data from on the recent transaxle thread on here, apparently a repeat offender.

ZFQ low gear is 2.5? to 1 and 2nd is 1.6 to 1, so you say you have 543 ft lb @engine= 1357 ft lb for low gear and 860 ft lb for second, doubt even your ~12" tires will harness that, but gives you a better idea of what you are subjecting the transaxle to, learn to treat the TA with some respect.

542 ft ibs is a couple of hundred ft/lbs more than they are meant to live with, If its the ZFQ I saw pics of in another forum those wide tires & that engine would be capable of the damage shown.

Plenty of fiberglass savvy folk around , you could have a go yourself & pull a mold of yours if you feel up to it.
