    Craft Performance engine knock

A few of the warranty conditions etc that I took from the CPE website that I think could void any warranty.... You had a third party dismantle part of the engine, 'Remove oil pan' , CPE recommend Joe Gibbs oil etc., Engines are shipped dry without oil, you or your chosen 3rd party are to fill...

    Craft Performance engine knock

So if engine damage is due to lean mixture, noise ( knock) should have been heard right from first start up after fitting in car.. You say it occurred after about 140 miles and on your own carb which was not on engine for dyno run. and 40deg timing was also discovered after or during that 140...

    Craft Performance engine knock

Couple of things, at what point was your own Holley sniper fitted, was it fitted right from start at dyno session. You state 4.030''-4.040'' pistons, which? shouldnt be both! Is this in Cobra or GT40, was it dynoed with GT40 ( 180deg headers or dyno headers).

Acceptable lifter bore wear on a 302

I cant help with pricing, since our predecessors sent us out to the antipodes to drop off our aussie cuzzies before settling in NZ we have turned our skills to 'fettling' anything that would otherwise have to imported from the homelands.

Acceptable lifter bore wear on a 302

As long as the new lifters slide freely in the bores should be fine, that looks like a 'historic' wear mark perhaps from a previous cam issue. If your intending to replace with another flat tappet cam you should really, really, really look into grooving the lifter bores so that oil is...

    Ian Pretty's Aussie racing GT40

IIRC Ian did a progress & development style thread plus a few in car video's. If you type his name into the members list you should get further info on those threads-- thats if that function still works on this new software deal?

    Quaife bellhousing on Ford block

If you have access to a small lathe you should be able to turn up offset dowels by simply placing a shim under one jaw of increasing thickness's to obtaining a suitable offset.

    302 firing order - should I avoid 1542

Ford when they introduced the 351w & 351c said that they changed the firing order to revise the loads on the crankshaft ( Remember 351w was introduced in 69, 351c a bit later- dont forget Boss 302 still used 15426378 and revved higher & for longer than the others. , but the 302 SB kept the...

    Quaife bellhousing on Ford block

The Ford dowels are usually quite easy to punch out of the block from front to rear, them make a couple of new dowels 0.500" dia on one end and 0.460''dia on the other, small lathe reqd. If Quaife's accuracy is up to usual spec that should be job done.

    302 firing order - should I avoid 1542

Follow the link in Mikes post #4 above, it shows/explains the pipe sequence where it does not matter which cam /firing order you use..... Further re the int/external balance thing, if you go internal thats fine but think about all that weight on one side of # 1 main vs ext balance sharing that...

Dry Sump vs external pump vs wet with accusump + block choice

Hmm, sounds like one or both of the engines Jack Ondrack was thinking of buying, but that was several years ago. The PP racer wouldnt be Dennis ( cant remember how to spell the name) was Vashovitz or something like that?...0.066 would only be .033 on side of each bore

Dry Sump vs external pump vs wet with accusump + block choice

If your even thinking of the Dailey dry sump Pan for your Ford engine, please spend an hour or so scrolling thru Russ Noble's build thread. Dailey might make good stuff for chev's etc, but Russ found he was being used as an experiment and the Pan was useless. From my own point of view I regard...
