Sad news from Australia, Carolyn Grace has passed away on the 2nd December following a car crash. Her son Richard was also injured but reportedly only slightly. She was one of the mainstays of the UK air show scene & was frequently described in the press as the worlds only female Spitfire...

Ditto that, I've met up with Lee a few times over the years at Goodwood events & also at the Le Mans Classic. He's a gentleman & the HM Mk2's are great cars.

The last 'Original' Tennant (Panels) Ltd. replacement chassis', rather than anything by Abbey Panels from the 1960's.

The dark blue no.98 GT40 'dancing' with the MG in post #1 is GT40P/1109. One of the seven original Ford (Abbey Panels) chassis that were left over when production ceased. Subsequently built up in the 1970's & given a 11xx chassis number by JWA.

Yes Eric liked the idea of an aluminium chassis. However as I understand it Ford wanted a steel chassis because it was judged a more simple, easier to work with material. It would also be better for the road car derivative, plus aluminium was not a familiar material to Ford Motor Company for...

Don't forget the follow up film which features a lot of Lee's memories. Ref., the above film. It's not accurate to say a Tennant replacement chassis is an 'original' ( Abbey Panels ) chassis from the 1960's. It isn't.
