Torrential rain made for a very interesting Sprint at Goodwood at the weekend. Not the best combination of slippery track, gobs of power and foot wide tyres, but the good ol' Southern GT took it all in it's stride and looked after us both! 'Fraud' Cortina is powered by a supercharged Chevy lump...

I'll be very interested to know how they fare when you do get it measured, especially the static test, which is always the one that 40's struggle with. Good luck!

The Avon CR6 ZZ's would get my vote every time. They are excellent on track in the dry or the wet in my experience.

Yes, I used the bead system and found it to be very good. You start with just the beads in the supplied bag. This means you can spend as long as you like getting it just as you want it, the right shape, support, removing all creases etc. Then you add the resin. The trouble with the mixed foam...

Personally, I don't have a heater and have never found the lack of one a problem. As for the placement of the pump re. pushing/sucking, surely it is a circular system, and it makes no difference where you put it? Wherever you put it, it is pushing one half and sucking the other?

I've used the DC 150 (cast alloy) and the electronic controller from the start and thoroughly recommend them. Mine is in the front of the car and I removed the mechanical one and the thermostat. As Andy says, what is the point in keeping the mechanical one? I like the fact that when motoring...

Chris, Speak to Mick at Southern GT for prices etc., (01489 890384) he's always really helpful. I'm just a (very) satisfied customer. But here is a picture of mine. As Terry says, V-band clamps are the king to quickly slip on straight pipes for those noisy days!

Southern GT make a pair of silencers to fit your need exactly. I used to faff about with add ons and wadding etc to get into Goodwood, and it was always nail biting at noise testing, as well as very restricting for the engine. But these do the job every time without fail and without any wadding...

I have had very good results, and I mean truly amazing, with laser welding. It is very intense without the distortion. I would check that before writing off the block.

But at least I get to share the spoils! A very Merry Christmas to you all from both of us.
