    Walter's RCR40 Build

``From GT40 to GTV": I've spent the summer working on my 1974 Alfa GTV 2000, which I've owned for 30 years now. It's almost done and should be ready for the track again next spring. Finally I found the time to drive the GT40 and ended up with erratic ignition (a problem in the low tension...

RCR40 GT40 MKI Build in Wisconsin

I can understand both Jeff's frustration and Fran's cynicism. ``Lead times and suppliers delays are part of this industry" - yes, of course, but of this magnitude? I think our western society is seeing economic/industrial changes which could be the topic of a special forum in itself. On the...

    Electric or mechanical water pump?

My car has both ;-) Modified (as there is no heater circuit from the pump) LS7 water pump plus electric unit in the radiator circuit. The latter runs on (thermostatically controlled) after engine shut down.

    RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

Hello Jean-Marc: Questions: Could you pull the transaxle-bell-housing unit without raising the engine? Lucky if ``yes", on my car it is ``no" \-: What is the pivot mechanism for the rear clam shell - simple bolts or ``claw and wheel" for easy removal? Any progress with your car? Best...

New source for a performance 15" tire for the GT

yes, indeed. 14inch seems to be the step child in rim sizes when it comes to vintage/historic cars like the Alfa Romeo GT .... Hoosier seems to be the only choice...

    RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

well, then I'd search for pictures under the key words "kit car wiring harness fuse box ..." or send RCR an email with the photo above. Good luck....

    Mocal Oil Cooler Thermostat

In case this has not been discussed: the drawings illustrating the Mocal oil cooler thermostat (copy attached) may not agree with what you have in hand: I have two of them (for which I checked) and the bolt heads on mine are at the ``large spring port" and not -as shown in the installation...

    RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

Hi Jean-Marc: Are you able to identify the maker (brand) of the wiring loom? Mine is a (21 circuit - most likely) EZ Wiring harness. Their color coding is online. Picture shows how my box looks like (photo taken from ebay). Cheers

    GT40 Build Status

Hi: Not uncommon, see similar contributions, such as, https://www.gt40s.com/threads/not-understanding-the-delivery-process-looking-for-help.57653/#post-591803 As for parts or information, sending an email has worked for me, usually without much delay. Greetings

    Walter's RCR40 Build

no problem. Yes, as you say, on the original GT40s the sway bar usually ran above the exhaust and thus had a more complicated shape. On most replicas I've seen it's opposite: sway bar underneath. The RCR (rear) sway bar is rather beefy and heavy. Most likely overkill for the street but...

    Door and Hood Gap Sealing

finally there was sufficient lighting for a picture for what I did near the door hinges. The main shield sits in the wheel arches (behind the front wheels).

    Walter's RCR40 Build

dB: not really - but similar to the other system. I may go back to the builder and ask him for measurement, now that everything is in place. I'm sure the sway bar setup came directly from RCR. I took some pictures but it's difficult to see much with everything else in its place. If you...

    Walter's RCR40 Build

New muffler with integrated HJS CATs installed - not very pretty but I hope it will leave less heat in the engine bay...

    RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

So ``your" front clam is mounted to rotate on a shaft? As you say, that's probably better for everyday use (no need for disconnecting wires and hoses, little space needed in front of the car to open). The bobbin setup is quicker when you need to swap the entire nose in case of damage or to get...

    KCC GT40 for sale

Hi Marcus: Beautiful car and a very reasonable price as well! 4-6 years ago it would have been a serious contender for a purchase by me. Having followed the market for the past few years, very few GT40s sell immediately. It takes the right person for a car like this - which I see as...

    Jokes anyone? -

Maybe an old one, but it happened today: GT40 (RCR) for refueling at the gas station. ``A" walks up to the car from across the street. A: Excuse me, but is this must be a Lotus? B: No it isn't. A: Oh! ... Well, from the rear it looks almost like a GT40. B: Yes it does, and from the...

    Walter's RCR40 Build

Perfectly cool day for ``building" confidence in the car and make an outing in the country. No issues and thus time for pictures. Still waiting for my new muffler system.

    RCR40 Fuel Cell Foam

Hi Randy: Here is a screenshot from Jansen Competition's catalogue (in German) making reference to internal catch tanks by RTL. Of course, you'd need one each. I use 2 separate tanks for fuel supply to an external swirl pot (with some safety features recommended by Kinsler), a magnetic switch...

    RCR40 Fuel Cell Foam

By the way, there are swirl pot systems which are part of/i.e. inside the fuel tank.

    RCR40 Fuel Cell Foam

I understand but I'd still go for a bladder for your own safety. And definitely get a swirl pot - see my build log! Kinsler is a good source for advice and parts. Good luck with your project!
