Here is a thread showing changing the spider gears. In the photo of the casing with the box that says car a is your carrier. Looks like the same as it sets in the box. http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/transmission-drivetrain/1112rc-1940-ford-banjo-rearend/

    GT 40 gearbox identification

I wonder if Mr.Baker actually used two rings to make the carrier. That is maybe why the carrier seems has ratio numbers on it and wear from the thrust button Jac.

    GT 40 gearbox identification

It looks like the Ring has a lot of wear on the back face from the photo. Does it have a brass or a steel button on a stud that keeps the pinion from climbing like a quick change? You can see the stud on the bell in this photo.

    Holinger trans axle

I was over visiting H/M and they were installing it on what looked to be a 427. It looked a lot like the T44 and Lee said it was made by Jerico. Really do not know more than that. I am not sure could have been a prototype for all I know. I would love to have one of the really nice transaxles...

Good bye Locost 7 Hello GT40!!

Hi Joe: I did have to cut them off. Bill's parts are for original cars so the ducts on the inside of the clip did not line up with anything. On the originals they align up with holes in the chassis. However I did make it so that they are going to be repositioned and used. I am still hunting for...

Randy: I am sure it will all work out work it is just the cost of the body panels. I purchased one of those vibratory multi-purpose tools installed one of the half moon blades. It worked great for cutting the fiberglass which was a pleasant surprise. I hate grinding fiberglass. Seems like I...

Good bye Locost 7 Hello GT40!!

The hardest part of this build for me has been having to make cuts on the fiberglass inner parts for clearance. Today a I had to cut way part if the inner dual nostril panels. Knowing what I know now I would have had Bill Hough not bond the two pieces. It does give me comfort to see that many...
