But its cheaper to get one and modify it than to get a rebuilt or new 2wd audi O1E. I think it would need some extensive work to make it work in an RF but I dont like the gear ratios though.

Mark, How are you going to make your 5spd box to fit in your RF? I would like to find one at a resonable price but I might try RB auto service in San Diego because they do japanese and german cars so I might be able to find one. I could get a passat w8 4motion one and convert it to 2wd drive...

I'm sure the passat w8 4motion manual has this transmission. It was a 6 speed. It might just be a 4wd version of the 2wd A8 manual. I hope this helps.

I also think a 300 to 400 hp 302 works well. If you want to go over 400 hp the transmission would cost as much as the motor. Also MDA can build factory turnkey minuses. Also I would recommend Engine Factory at www.enginefactory.com. I hope that helps for you.
