    Which Weber Setup?

Bill, everyone I've talked to said to use the IDA's - all had various reasons - - don't know which of them were valid or not at this point - Farhad has IDF's I think dave

    GT40 Australia Chassis #64

Re: Chassis #64 due in July It's only personal opinion (so take it for what it may be worth = 0), but get the roll bar installed now - at least the rear hoop part. cost is not significant now and it's a bitch to add in later when the car is finished. Even if you don't intend to track the car...

    CAM questions

Hi everyone, I think there is some confusion here - I've NEVER intended to go hydraulic in any form. Original intention was to stay with solid flat tappet, but was convinced by numerous engine builders to convert to SOLID roller cam (perhaps the term "solid" instead of "mechanical" is...

    CAM questions

Hi Jim, What type of HP do you think will come from this setup? Also, I'm a bit surprised at their recommendatin of the 165's to turn 7500 rpm - even on a little 289 - would have thought that the 185's would breath much better up there! I'll be keeping this a 289 as well - plan is to...

    CAM questions

Thanks Dave, I had those specs - I'm just trying to see what type of lift and duration they used with webbers in the original GT-40 back then as a starting point. I've talked to a number of engine builders that have said if I'm willing to rev the 289, they have seen 400+ hp at 7500 rpm fairly...

    Fuel Pumps

Lynn, did you rubber mount both the pump side AND the screw/bolts heads on the opposite side of the panel? If you dont get the bolt heads too, it can really amplify the pump noise on the pannels. Or is it just the pump itself thats noisy?

DRB Flywheels - - what balance from the factory

Thanks Flatchat - - I was hoping that the flywheel came "zero balanced" as I'd like to get the engine internally balanced, but I'm not sure it will be possible with the original 289 crank - and I was hoping not to have to go to the 302 stroke length in the motor (want to turn some revs!)...

DRB Flywheels - - what balance from the factory

Does anyone know if the standard flywheel (for a 302) comes as zero balanced or with the weights on? Getting ready to send out the rotating assy and I'm not sure what I'm starting with!! Thanks

    Porsche GT3 vs GT40

    J. Salmon, Fuel tanks have been discussed in numerous threads - - the general consensus of opinion is; 1) they can be made as safe as you realistically get with other cars by puttig bladders in and/or "fuel safe" types of products. 2) as for collision, if you measure the height of the saddle...

    Betty's first real date.

Re: Betty\'s first real date. Bud, I've been trying to get Faili to a track for at least 15 YEARS - - I've offered him rides in everything from formula V's, to spec racers to 250 ulimited go-karts - - He always finds some excuse!!! (Farhad - - are you listening??). I sure hope you succeed as...
