The definitive PPG Deltron Paint thread

Without a doubt the best 200 bucks I have spent while building this car, and the most fun I have had in a while. Many thanks Mark for arranging such a valuable experience for us. Brian

    Trip to see Chris.

Sweet, real nice guys...How's the transaxle behaving Howard? If the New England boys don't see some if this action next year, I'm bulldozing everything into a pile for a fire....... signed Disgusted in New Hampshire................

    Seats

I Recently had Bill Hough do up a set of seats and a door bubble for me and I am impressed. The back section flares and flattens out in a manner that allows me (who will never be accused of being svelt) to fit comfortably in the bucket. This is a problem that I was thinking I could never solve...

    Nominal Clearances to frame

Thanks Howard, that's what I was hoping for. I have not installed the parts as of yet, but I don't see that I'll have any issues. The Transaxle mounts are Energy Suspension part number 9.4101G, they come as a pair and are listed as a universal mount for harsh conditions. The hole in the...

    Nominal Clearances to frame

I'm using a combo of Prothane and Energy suspension poly mounts for the driveline in our car. As the transaxle mounts are thinner than the stock GTD rubber ones and Roy's engine mounts are adjustable, I can drop the motor to some extent. What do the GTD boys recommend for nominal clearance...

    Radiator fans for GTD

I need a set of fans for the radiator on my GTD. Can anyone tell me if this is this a stock item, like for instance a SPAL # OU812? Or is it an amalgamation of parts put into place? Thanks Brian

    Anyone built one of these?

Although I have not built one, I have seen a bunch, been in one (thanks Bill!) and have been to the FFR open house. In my opinion, they do a good product, and the bang for the buck is significant. If you have not been, the FFR open house is not to be missed. Brian

    Alternator

Powermaster 140 amp alternator, Natural case, Ford one one wire hook up. Serpentine and V-belt pulleys. Part number 8-47140. Never used, not correct for my application. Cost me 158 bucks, plus shipping. No power lead as it has been woven into my harness. Asking 100 bucks plus shipping...

    Seat Shells

For sale today we have one set of fiberglass seat shells. I picked them up from Phil Ware quite some time ago and honestly don't remember what I paid for them. They fit the GTD cockpit well, but I need a wider back section. Asking 200 bucks, plus shipping. Please send a PM or an email if...

    Wiper motors

Has anyone used a marine wiper motor for their car? I see AFI sells a self contained unit that has adjustable sweep, self parking, etc. Does not look too bad, a no-brainer install. It's probably a one-speed, but I'm not going to go out in the rain on purpose, so I'll be using it only if I get...

    Painting

I don't think 600 bucks will cover paint. I have been told by the local hot rodders to expect to consume about 2,000 bucks worth of fillers, primers and paint. I have been forewarned by many, DO NOT buy cheap materials to paint these cars. Brian

    Electric Air conditioning

Has anyone had a good look under the hood of the Toyota Prius? I just read that this car is the only vehicle manufactured with an electric air conditioning unit. I wonder if the A/C could be stripped from one in a boneyard and fitted to a '40.....Less junk on the front end of the engine to deal...
